Excellent staff but you pay for everything extra.

The staff at the Hilton Fukuoka were lovely, helpful and very considerate. However, it is the systems within the Hilton chain that were displeasing. Logon to wifi and they want you to upgrade. Take your daughter for a swim and it was going to cost approximately $42.00 Australian and she couldn’t even use most of the facilities. We ate at the brasserie which was expensive and the food was very slow in coming out, my meal was not available and then my replacement meal was forgotten about. We also ate in the Sushi restaurant in the 35th floor which was delicious and beautiful views, but the wine was very expensive. We found the most reasonably priced meals were the buffet. It had an extensive dessert bar which made my children very happy. Our room had 4 single beds and it was going to cost a significant amount to get an extra trundle bed brought up. Approx $70. We stayed in other hotels like the Rydges and this did not incur any additional fee. When you are already paying approximately $650 Australian for a room I would like a trundle bed included in the cost. I know this sounds like I am disgruntled however why can cheaper hotels include this in their costs and not a Hilton?

Zero Service but Comfortable Room

Posted Nov 27, 2017
I enjoyed the view, the value, the gym, and the comfortable beds. However, this is a large coach bus hotel on top of a shopping mall. Expect long lines and waits. I tried calling the front desk, bell staff, and room service multiple times and no one ever picked up either in the evening or next morning. I had to travel 33 floors each time I needed something. They never came up for my bags after waiting an hour. Basically expect a decent room but you will have to do everything else on your own.

Not far from the downtown core & JR Hakata area. Convenient to a few sightseeing places you must go visit; great variety of Japanese style breakfast but you’ve to pay for; staff at the front desk are super pleasant with directions, taxi service assistant and luggage temporary storage; will definitely return to stay in the future!

Cons: see above
Location: see above
Most of the staff are not fluent in English so there were difficulties in the beginning until others could help. In room coffee quality is pathetic. Location is very inconvenient no close to small eateries and coffee shops... too isolated. Who wants to pay 3-4 times the price to eat at the hotel restaurants? During the conference, the lunch item selections are the same.. very rigid style... Japanese food like sushi and ramen (well known in Fukuoka) were unseen for the three lunches.
