Wonderful 1st time trip to this hotel
e loved every minute of our short stay at the elegant Reid's Palace. The staff made us feel like royalty. It was my husband's birthday on our arrival date, and they delivered a bottle of champagne and a vase of flowers to our room to our room from the hotel manager to wish him a happy birthday! All our dietary needs were well catered for (pescatarian, gluten-free) and without prompting, they brought to our table special gluten-free hotel-baked pastries for breakfast after the first morning. All the staff were extremely polite, friendly and efficient. The hotel was really magical, with amazing views from every window and balcony, and at every level. The botanical garden was a real treat to wander through, and the swimming pools were heated to just the right temperature, and were spotlessly clean. We had a fabulous meal at the William restaurant on the first evening, which was one of the best meals we had eaten in a hotel. The presentation was superb and the service was second to none. The gluten-free freshly baked rolls were delicious. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing, pampering break with 5 star + service, as well as stunning setting, and fantastic amenities.

Its a classic, iconic hotel in a great location on the rocky front at Funchal that's managed to balance keeping the old and traditional with a modern, facility with impeccable levels of service and attention to detail.
