Beautiful hotel

Posted Nov 2, 2017
Pros: Everything - especially the staff.
Cons: Can't think of anything.
Very well looked after for the whole break. Excellent buffet breakfast. Lovely extra touches like free snacks delivered when you're sat by the pools (fruit in a morning and ice-lollies in an afternoon).

Great hotel with spectacular views

Posted Nov 2, 2017
Great cliff top hotel with spectacular views. Only 15 minutes walk from Funchal centre. Staff very friendly and helpful. Three pools to choose from and loads of sun beds. Plenty of leafy shade if required. Great food and buffets. Try Williams restaurant. It’s Michelin starred and well deserved. Villa Cipriani restaurant is cheaper but great also and the view from the terrace is amazing. We will definitely return next year.

Great hotel

Posted Oct 7, 2017
Pros: The staff and eating on the terrace - the views are inspiring as well.
Location: Excellent location, walking distance in to the town centre. Good bus route. Located on the cliffs looking out to sea. The pools were excellent .
You just have to experience Reids hotel. The stay was wonderful. The staff are a delight and you just have to do afternoon tea ans eat a meal in the William restaurant. Our stay was something we will always remember.

Hotel in the traditional style

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: Outstanding service
Cons: No jackets in the dinning room
Location: Outstanding location with room balcony so overlooking the sea and spectacular views.
This hotel is like stepping back in time but in a good way. It's very traditional but has exceptional service and the facilities are great. The pools overlooking the bay are the best but as well as the afternoon free ice lollies by the pool. If you can afford it, go to Reids Palace.

Superb hotel

Posted Sep 17, 2017
Pros: The atmosphere and many secluded private areas.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: The location is set up high on the coast with a great view of Funchal. The sea views are spectacular.
Very welocming staff and a wonderful location makes this one of the best hotels we ever stayed in. The outside facilities with pools and access to the sea with numerous terraced sun areas could not be beaten. The William restaurant is spectacular lovely food presented very nicely with a very informed staff made our visit there very memorable. The management is very visible and supportive of the junior staff and it was nice to see the nice atmosphere created by this.

Great hotel by the beautiful Funchal sea

Posted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: Amazing location, great food (including breakfast) and good cleaning service (twice a day)
Location: If you bother walking you might find the downtown and old town quite far to walk but the Hotel offers a transfer.
Stayed in the hotel for 7 nights with my girlfriend and experienced a great time. It's a classical hotel, so be prepared to find a classical accommodation.

Ageless charm

Posted Aug 25, 2017
Pros: The ambience, the comfort and the friendliness of staff.
Location: Excellent cliff top location overlooking the sea.
This is a long established hotel with a deserved reputation. On arrival our welcome was excellent. Our room was charming and comfortable. Food in the restaurants good, and staff very attentive. Pricey but I think worth every Escudo sorry Euro.
