I got there after 3pm didn't arrive until 6:30am the next day I felt that I should have gotten a discount and charged half price for one days.

The staff was fantastic! Very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable, the bathroom on the small side, but clean and functional. Will def stay there again.

Horrible!

the tub was disgusting - lights burnt - hotel didn't clean the room and said card was on door to not disturb? Not true! We had to change light bulbs to see in restroom ourselves

In town for a wedding

Pros: Proximity
Location: University of Florida
Close to campus, easy enough to come and go. I don't really have anything else to add here. The hotel was the right price at the right time for the event I needed it for.

Good location but very dated

Very nice people who run the motel but very old motel which needs remodeling. Chipped tile, stained tub, faucet dropped all night and air wouldn't turn off. Not worth what we paid.

Overpriced , seek alternate

I was in town for the Florida Relays and at time of booking Howard Johnson Express was one of three hotels with available rooms. Not worth the cost of $150.00 per night more like a $40.00 per night motel. Aged room and furniture. Cleary hotel is low maintenance and supported on the cheap. Very thin walls, we had a difficult time sleeping due to noise from adjoining rooms. I would not recommend this hotel. As I told the Manager, I will be visiting Gainesville very often and he has lost my future business....he did not seem to care.

Was an ok place to stay for one night.

I asked the manager at the desk if he liked that we booked the room ahead of time through Expedia and he said they prefer to be called direct to eliminate any confusion about room preferences such as no smoking. They have had mix ups in the past through bookings by Expedia. He said the cost of the room by booking direct to the motel is the same as through Expedia. Not sure how actually true this is
