Margie Hardy's Stay in LaQuinta

Posted Aug 31, 2015
Pros: Hotel had a reasonable price and near Winstar Casino. Breakfast served each morning. Good variety of choices. Movie theatre in walking distance.
Cons: Eggs tasted powered.
Location: Visited WinStar Casino each day. Movie theatre in walking distance. Mexican resturant in walking distance.
The hotel staff was awesome. The hotel was having some work done but the front desk staff managed around that work very well. Once checked into the room, we noticed the toilet seemed dirty or stained. I should have mentioned it to the staff on the day of check in but I didn't. I actually just thought housekeeping had done a poor job of cleaning. It wasn't a big deal at the time. By the evening/night of day two, the toilet would not flush. We were scheduled to check out on Sunday. I went downstairs and told the front desk about the toilet the morning of the check out. Although we had the air conditioner on 65 degrees, the room did not seem to get cool enough. l will visit this hotel again to see if this was just an abnormal day or if this is the norm.

Nice hotel, currently remodeling.

Posted Aug 26, 2015
Great staff, the room was very clean as well as the rest of the hotel even though they are currently remodeling. The only problem I had was with road noise. The hotel is located on the Interstate, and I had a room on that faced the interstate side. Heard traffic noise all night long and was loud enough to keep me awake. If staying here be sure to ask for a room away from the interstate.

Room was smokey

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: Staff was friendly, breakfast was okay.
Cons: Get rid of the smoke smell.
We reserved a non-smoking room. Although the sign in the room said "Please no smoking" the room a terrible cigarette smell.

Brown Water

Posted Aug 24, 2015
The water in the shower was brown and didn't smell good. The bed seemed really hard and difficult to sleep on comfortably.

Close enough.

It was cheap, easily accessible, and comfortable. However the plumbing wasn't top notch and we had asked for non-feathered pillows because my friend was allergic.

This is a nice hotel, currently being remodeled.

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Checking in was very easy, there were workmen there working on the remodel and the front desk clerk assured us they would not be working overnight. He also gave us excellent directions to our destination. The room was clean and tidy, just as expected. Breakfast was also very good. We would definitely stay there again.

Very nice clean hotel, comfortable bed with big fluffy pillows. Water pressure in the shower was very low to moderate to say the least.

Elevator

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Service was good, elevator was broken 2 weeks prior to staying there June 5 2015, snack machine broken, breakfast was great, close to Winstar, feel like manager should have charge a weekday rate instead of weekend rate cause of elevator not working, staff was great.

Once and Done!

Posted Jun 3, 2015 on Hotels
Due to the recent storms in Texas, the elevator was not working. In all fairness, the staff did call and let me know in advance a week before my arrival. However, it was still out of order when I left. Not sure there is any urgency in getting it back in working order. This hotel is a no frills place, in need of sprucing up. I had to ask for a discount because I was booked on the 3rd floor and lugged my suitcases by myself up the stairs coming and going, not to mention the climb every time I left the room. They gave me $30+ off of a $260 bill. This was my first experience with La Quinta and will definitely be my last.
