Charming old world hotel. A standout choice in a sea of mediocrity.

Quaint inn right in downtown Gainesville!Posted Sep 26, 2015
Loved my stay. Staff was beyond kind, gracious and accommodating. Room I stayed in was Isadora and it was pleasant and cozy. The morning breakfast was incredible and offered options both hearty AND healthy!

Cozy place to spend a weekendPosted Sep 1, 2015
Pros: Atmosphere- inside and out. The breakfast!
Cons: Internet service. Able to get/play movies in the room.
I had a great stay here for a mother daughter weekend. The room we had was lovely and very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the food delicious! The only very minor downside was that the internet connection was not very good in our room. ( Might have been better down in the common area ). We loved coming back to such a homey place each afternoon! Will definitely go again.

Worth every penny! Lovely place , wonderful staffPosted Aug 12, 2015
We were touring UF for our high school senior. Loved the Sweetwater Branch- they were helpful in guiding us to excellent neighboring restaurants. Breakfast was amazing and inn is beautiful. We can't wait to return.

Charming but different than we expectedPosted May 23, 2015
Pros: The staff and the beautiful grounds.
Cons: Plumbing fixtures in the bathroom.
Location: Sweetwater Branch Inn is in a very convenient location. Most of the downtown area is within walking distance. The UF campus is just a short drive.
Since we've loved the elegant comfort and brisk breakfast conversation at other B&Bs we've stayed in, we were enthusiastic to stay at Sweetwater Branch Inn during our trip to Gainesville, FL. This is a much larger establishment than most others we'd experienced. The buildings and grounds are beautiful. And breakfast is amazing. But we were a little disappointed in our room, a very small space on the first floor. It was so small, we constantly bumped into each other. The bathroom plumbing needs a little updating and repair. And, because our room was right next to the kitchen, we were awoken too early each morning by the clinking and banging sounds of pots and pans, dishes and silverware. Unlike many other B&Bs, guests at the Sweetwater do not have breakfast together. Instead, they have a window of a couple of hours and can select from many options set out in the kitchen, then sit and eat at one of several small tables on the enclosed front porch. We missed the opportunity to meet guests from other places and share tips about what to do and see.

Sweet PlacePosted May 10, 2015 on Hotels
Stayed there for 1 night for a UF tour. Great location close to downtown and UF. First time at a B&B and will do it again because of this experience. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the bathroom for the Loisa room was detached so everytime we needed to use the bathroom or sink we had to be dressed (robes were provided) which was an inconvenience but for 1 night was tolerable. Breakfast was awesome and staff very friendly. Overall great experience.

Great place and very nice staff.Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Nice location, nice grounds and nice rooms.
We got there late and had to call the number to get in. I had written the code down wrong for the door. In spite of a 1AM call, the staff answered and got us in.
