Fantastic front staff, comfortable bed!

Pros: Staff, location, service, food, hot water, price, good smell, never smelled any smoking, soft towels, cookies in lobby!
Cons: Have cleaning staff double check that there is soap in the tub dispensers.
Location: Lake Lanier Olympic Park is easy drive away. Several places to eat close by. Longhorn Steak House mile away served great med rare sirloins!
Very easy & fast check in with friendly competent staff. Chocolate chip cookies and cold lemon water refreshing after a drive. Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Any slightest issue taken care of quickly and pleasantly (soap & shampoo dispenser empty but the conditioner was full.). Room was quiet and no smell of smoke or animals. This is a big issue for me. Have seen much more expensive places that did not smell this good! We had to leave very early the 1st morning of our stay and they made sure the breakfast was started early due to this (there were several dragon boat racers staying here that needed this early breakfast and we all appreciated the effort made to accommodate our issue! Huge thank you!!!!!). Second morning we arrived for the breakfast at 8:30. Plenty of food. Seating no problem. If you are looking for the Carleton Ritz then go there. If you want a clean comfortable place to stay at a good price that serves a decent breakfast with crispy bacon you are here! Best price around. There were workers here due to Hurricane Irma. Really nice guys. Very respectful. There were evacuees with and without animals. NO problem with any of the animals. Front staff could not be better on each shift. If you have problems with stairs then you need to ask for a first floor room. We were 2nd floor 210 and it was not an issue for us. Did have problem with keys my husband carried going dead but they made new ones with no problem.

Don't waste your money

Room was dirty (used qtips, cheese balls, moldy chicken in microwave and shoes in a drawer). My son and I checked in and went directly to dinner so the disgusting-ness was not realized until late and by that time all I wanted to do was sleep since I had drove all day. Upon checking out in the morning the desk clerk was very rude and nonchalant even though I bagged all the things from the room as proof. The manager did call me and resolve the issue as "much as he was able". I got reimbursed 50% of the room cost and offered a free night. That free night will not happen as I live 1200 miles away and won't stay there again even if I do travel to the Atlanta area.

It was clean, but outdated.

Pros: It was close to where i needed to be.
Cons: Upgrades.
The room was clean, but outdated. The carpet is old and the room smelled a little musky. The toilet seat wobbled around. It was a good enough room for the price.
