Nice hotel.lovely team

Istanbul was closed in adha," bayrum". The hotel is near "haliç" metrostation. Breakfast was very good. Team is helpful.

Good stay

It was great experience overall. Good service and friendly staff. Room was kind of small but we hardly stayed in room. We had a beautiful view from the room and breakfast area. Breakfast was great. I didn't like the local area but the location was close to train station and other transportation. Price was also reasonable.

Different level room given

Unfortunately, although we booked and paid for a Panoramic Room, we were given a sea view room. When we complained we were told that all Panorramic Rooms were being used by others. When we emphasised that we paid for a Panormaic Room and not Sea View Room, rather than being given a refund of price difference, we were offered a cocktail or a plate of pasta, which we declined.

Don't Go There ... A Definite Avoid!

Pros: We liked nothing about this hotel and left after 10-hour stay!
Cons: Everything can be improved in this hotel.
This hotel is not a 4-star hotel. It barely qualifies for a 2-3 star rating. The hotel is in a very noisy area and you feel as if you are staying on the street. The rooms are much smaller, and much different, than the square footage shown on Expedia site. The photos they showed on Expedia for the sea view rooms and panaromic rooms are "photoshop". The hotel does not offer any service. Be careful as the hotel will change the room you booked for another room without telling you, and the staff is not very helpful, but realize that the hotel is over-rated by Expedia. We are totally disappointed and left the hotel after 10-hour stay to another hotel. Don't go there, avoid it.

Therefore, as Istanbul Golden City Hotel team we definitely protest your comments. First of all our hotel is placed in one of Istanbul's most beautiful and most central area. To Taksim Beyoglu, Galata Bridge, Galata Tower are we in walking distance and we are in the middle point to ‘’the old city’’ and ‘’the new city'' . Via tram and bus stops it is easly to get acces everywhere. In addition, our hotel is opened since 2010 so really new and since we are located in a agency bank and commercial center of Istanbul, also this area is conveniently located in old town and charming area for all people. Because of this , there are many new architectural designs which have already started to be built. Thanks to these projects, the area gets more beautiful day by day About our rooms; you said yhe photos are not real it is photoshop. This comment is really funny because if you look at the pictures that guests upload themselves, we can prove that the photos are real . Also the photo of the room you put in the picture is a double bed panoramic room which directly faces the galata tower.and if you look carefully at this photo, the same is true of our panoramic room pictures at expedia (of course the room is much cleaner) if you excuse me , we will do our best and submit all our efforts to change your's mind as possitive .We are looking forward to hear from you soon Our aim is to make our guests stays unique and unforgettable with us. Very small

The hotel is small and fine Positives: Excellent service. Excellent internet. Very good upgrade. The room is very good and big enough . The staff are very friendly . Location is good Reasonable price Not far from metro and tram stations. Very nice roof with excellent view. It is recommended to stay for short time . Negative : The Elevator is small and the reception is also small but that price you cannot except much .

Ok, but not worth the high cost

I usually stay at another hotel when I visit Istanbul, but decided to try something new on this trip...and upon arrival, regretted my decision. Not only is it more expensive than my regular choice, but it offers much less. It is also situated in a less-than-savoury location. It is situated on a road that is noisy and full of hardware shops. The staff were generally rather unfriendly and not very helpful. And the breakfast, that was the bigger issue for me. No complimentary breakfast, instead, residents must pay 30 lira a day for the breakfast buffet, which is not that great and not worth the money. It's the first hotel I have ever stayed at that doesn't offer complimentary breakfast to residents, that's rather poor for the high cost. The room was clean and presentable, but the hotel was rather lacking in amenities, with not even coffee/tea facilities in the room. In fact, the room itself was the only near-positive part of staying here, however, the thin walls mean that you can pretty much hear everything your neighbours are getting up to. The view was pretty ok though. On my next Istanbul visit, I shall be returning to my usual choice which is cheaper, well kept, beautiful, and situated in a nice area and close to all the big sights...with an amazing complimentary breakfast. I wouldn't recommend the Golden City hotel to anyone. Stay in Sultanahmet, it's much more pleasant.

Excellent location, Good sstaf!

The hotel has a very nice location since it is close to the Karakoy Tram station, beşiktas taksim shuttle and the metro station. The staff of the hotel were all friendly and provided us with an early check in at the day of our arrival. The breakfast was acceptable but not really with variety. The rooms are very clean but not much spacious but is enough for double persons. The hotel has a small and slow elevator, and that was the only bad thing about it! I highly recommend this hotel!
