Perfect honeymoon stay

Posted Aug 3, 2017
Cons: Have laundry facility available at a cheaper rates for customers.
I had the best time at this hotel in Istanbul. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful when asked for anything. Although when we arrived there was construction outside the hotel, we didn't head a thing inside the hotel. The hotel is close to water front so we were able to take the fairy a couple of times around the city. It's also surrounded by great food places and modern bars, gaurentee having a great time. The room is huge and wonderfully set up. The bathroom has an amazing shower, cleaned every day. Breakfast was brilliant, the owner always asks about your day and get your orders of coffee and eggs (whatever you like for breakfast). I have been traveling around Turkey and the last destination was Istanbul. This hotel was the first place where I slept a great night sleep. It's very comfortable and relaxing. The only downfall is the laundry facility. Very very expensive, so make sure you actually need to have it done. I paid 40 euros for some clothes, best treatment I ever gave my clothes 😜. Overall, it was a great experience and I would recommend this to a friend and hopefully return one day.

perfect location, beautiful interior, lovely staff

Posted Dec 12, 2016
Pros: room decor, bathroom, location, staff and yummy breakfast
Location: very central, between sultanahmet, taksim, asian side and close to Galata Tower.
Karakoy is the area to stay in. it was an industrial zone and now it's the artists' hub. very nice designer shops, close to Istanbul modern museum, a great hammam is nearby and it's very central so you can go to all areas easily by walk, metro and ferry to the asian side. Karakoy rooms is a beautiful boutique hotel, the rooms are flawless, the bathroom is all made of white marble, it was very good to go back to the warm room after a long day out in the cold. bed is very comfortable, breakfast is in one of the best restaurants of Istanbul Karakoy Locantasi. staff is very nice and helpful, Selim gave me good recommendations for places to visit, we went to the Asian side and it's a must see. it's a boutique hotel par excellence, don't expect room service but it's really flawless, i loved every part of my journey.

Fantastic -- all around!

Posted Sep 6, 2016
I came to Turkey for a solo motorcycle trip that began/ended in Istanbul, so I ended up staying here twice; by the end, it felt like a home away from home. The hotel location is fantastic. It's a little difficult to find the first time (the door is right next to the Karakoy Lokantsi (restaurant), which is owned/operated by the same owners), but it's just a few blocks from both the Karakoy ferryboat pier, the foot of the Galata Bridge, and the Karakoy tram stop, and from there it's just 10-15 mins. by tram to either Sultanahmet or Taksim Square. It's convenient and close to everything touristy, but the Karakoy neighborhood itself is trendy and young, with lots of restaurants (including the hotel's own excellent restaurant), bars and nightclubs, and no people trying to sell you carpets or silver. The hotel rooms themselves are huge, and decorated in a hip, modern style, with high ceilings, Edison bulbs and exposed copper conduits. At least one of the rooms has its own kitchenette -- if I hadn't known better, I could easily have mistaken it for a chic loft apartment somewhere. The owners - Aylin and Oral -- are great. Aylin helped me with my bad Turkish pronunciation every morning, and Oral is a fellow motorcyclist. When they found out I'd be traveling alone, they gave me their cell phone number and told me to call from the road with any problems. The staff are young, energetic, friendly and helpful. If I come back to Istanbul, I will try to book a room here first.

Fantastic contemporary hotel that you NEED to book

Posted Jul 24, 2016 on Hotels
I loved the design of my room so much. It was literally just like the photo, and it was how I would design my home if I could. I will definitely stay there again when I return to Istanbul. Pros: Clean room Contemporary design Fantastic bed Good amenities (no toothpaste though, ha) Free bottled water Good kitchenette Decent wifi on lower floors Great location for accessing many parts of the city via ferry, the metro, taxis, or walking Very kind and respectful staff Great value Cons: Staff is helpful, but small, therefore is sometimes slow to fix problems A/C didn't work at first, but got fixed Wifi on upper floors is slow Had a leak from the ceiling in my bathroom (they did change my room for me, but still, it was inconvenient) Poor TV channel options (but this is no different than most hotels in Istanbul I've stayed in over the years)

Outstanding hotel with amazing rooftop terrace

Posted Jul 17, 2016 on Hotels
This boutique hotel is owned by the same couple who own the popular restaurant Karakoy Lokantasi and their attention to detail is apparent. In fact the hotel is situated above the restaurant and the delicious buffet breakfast is served there each morning. Our room was huge and on the corner of the building with large windows in two directions so plenty of natural light throughout the day and views of the Bosphorus Straits. The bed was comfortable with premium quality linen. The reception staff were helpful with advice on local restaurants, sightseeing and booking airport transfers. The hotel is only about 10 mins walk from the Galata Bridge. There is a lift for those with limited mobility. The neighbourhood may look a little downtrodden at the moment as renovation work is being carried out to several buildings but this will eventually enhance the area. The surprise feature of this hotel is the amazing rooftop terrace with views of the Bosphorus. We spent an hour or two each evening of our 3-night stay with a bottle of wine watching the busy Bosphorus at work. Highly recommended!

Small boutique style hotel, great space

Posted Jun 2, 2016
Pros: Amazing spacious room, and good location close to the water
Location: Close by the Galata Bridge, a short tram wide to the main tourist sites without having to stay in the commercialized "old Istanbul".
The Karakoy Rooms is a smaller hotel, with about a dozen rooms; my room really was an apartment size space, with open plan living room, bedroom, dining room, a small but fully equipped kitchen, and a nice bathroom. I was seriously impressed by the size of the space, and it was well furnished. A great place to spend my week in Istanbul. The hotel staff are young and very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is available in the Karakoy Lokantasi restaurant next door - nice, fresh continental style and you can order eggs to go with it. Karakoy itself is a port area, so you are close to the water and ferries etc, and the major tourist spots are a short tram ride over the bridge. Great little coffee shops in the small side streets behind the hotel, too - a fun bonus for quiet evenings. Very well worth looking at for your stay here!
