What a wonderful place to stay!
The couple who owns the hotel were great people. When you need something, they know before you do and get it for you before you even ask. I've recommended to all my Israeli friends to visit here.

Riki is a great host. Location is close to the old city. Parking is tight but should notbr a problem. The grounds are beautiful. But thats where the good stuff ends. Our room was decent size. Needs updated but thats ok. The bathroom is terrible. The sink is about 12" in athe corner. The shower is literally 12"x 36". So when u shower water is all over the floor. No separation on the floor between shower and bath. No electric for a hair dryer.

Hi, sorry you were so disappointed with the bathroom, you are correct, it is a bit cramped (that's why I have the rooms with the BATH which is MUCH more spacious). As for the electric outlet in the bathroom - this is Israel.... it is seen as a major danger of electrocution - so you do not usually find electric outlets in bathrooms in older buildings (Safed Inn has been here since 1936). - We do supply hairdryers - all you have to do is ask. Hope that you enjoy the rest of your trip.

The owner/operators were extremely friendly and offered me advice about the area, helped me place a food order in Hebrew, and gave me a tour of the beautiful garden. The inn is not in the heart of Tzfat but right next to a bus stop that goes into town and is also an easy drive. The room was simple and had everything I needed: a comfortable bed, some relaxing seating, a TV, a fridge, and a full bathroom. I definitely recommend!

We were very pleased with our hosts!
Good location - away from the center. The territory is beautiful, green, well-groomed. Everything is designed in Western European style. To the old town by car - a couple of minutes. Cleaning and change of linen is daily. I would have preferred to add a microwave to the room and breakfast as the establishment is listed as a B&B.

A rare find
This is a beautiful site, owned and staffed by people who put their hearts and souls into creating an experience that is at once homey and a retreat with attention and caring about their guests. The breakfast is artisanal, including homemade breads, cheeses and jams. Ricki and Dov are fonts of information about Safed and surroundings that is willingly shared. The grounds are inviting, accessible and pleasant to wile away an hour or more in the evening. We will return.

Great place for stay and to visit great places on the north of Israel. We got small room, but there was everything for comfort stay:fridge, kettle, coffee, tea, glasses. Very clean place, every morning the stuff cleaned the room. We rested with plesure in this place

An excellent hotel to stay in. Very clean, pretty, cozy and hospitable. The hotel is a bit away from the old town but a bus ride can take you there in avout 5 minutes. A cab is even better and reasonably priced. The hotel has a sauna and a jacuzzi and the continental breakfast is well prepared and at a good price. The owners are very amiable and laid back. Really recommend the Safed Inn if you're staying in Akko.

Very quaint place to stay. Plenty of room, very clean, and everything worked.. Great couple who run it, very friendly and outgoing. I read a couple of reviews that said the opposite, but I definitely disagree. The gentleman was a riot, just beware of the "grape juice" he offers you!

Riki is a wonderful host--the breakfast alone is worth the stay, but Riki also has wonderful visit recommendations that are really great! The rooms are nothing special (though nothing at all to complain about), but everything else about this place is! The Israeli breakfast is amazing! Stay here for a delicious start to your day and wonderful recommendations by Riki! We will definitely be keeping this place in mind for the next time we're near Tsfat and if friends/family asks for recs! Thank you!

Excellent stay
Not actually in the city of Safed, but several miles outside in the hills. A very rustic location. The owners of this bed-and-breakfast went out of their way to help us, provide us with information, fix any little thing that needed work, breakfast was made up of homemade jams, breads, and the owners even make cheeses. They have an excellent source of contacts in the immediate community. Somehow locked my iPhone. And could not get it to unlock with any code or fingerprint. They knew who to send us to. Who did it in a matter of minutes. They also know the approximate amount for local taxis. I knew exactly when we were getting taken by a taxi driver.

An oasis of calm and tranquility in a sometimes chaotic land. Clean, well maintained, and owners who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. A must do is the Israeli breakfast, lovingly prepared by Rikki. And all this for under $30 US a night. Literally, the best deal in Israel.

Always happy to stay at the Safed Inn
This was my second stay with Riki and Dov at the Safed Inn. They are warm and welcoming, happy to suggest everything for walks, to restaurants, to things to do. The Inn is on top of a mountain, so in the summer it is wonderfully cool in the evening, and views are amazing! I cannot recommend this place enough, and I already have my next stay booked with them!

Everything you want and more!
There are not enough positive adjectives to describe the place and overall experience of staying at the Safed Inn. The gracious owners don't miss a beat - from a delicious breakfast (including homemade jams and eggs to order), directions on where to go/how to get around, to the lovely conversation over a chilled glass of wine and laundry facilities - it was a perfect visit and a highlight of my travels.

We loved the Safed Inn!! The room was very comfortable, the service was fantastic...overall great. My husband had emergency eye surgery which required a prescription to be filled. The script was unavailable, yet Dubi called the doctor, had the prescription changed, filled and picked up and delivered to my husband. The bed and breakfast and their staff are very special. I invite you to sit and have drinks and snacks with them— it is a treat.

Nasty Staff and Crummy Rooms
the staff was cold and made us feel unwelcome. We did not have a pleasant experience at all. The room was not so clean they even ask that you let them know what is dirty so they don't have to clean every thing. (What happens if you leave a dirty towel hanging does the next person get the honor of using after you?) I would recommend that one find a different place to stay as there are many and they are cleaner, more accommodating, and better priced.

Please, look at all the other reviews.... you know that this is not true. we are always nice to guests. We worry about the environment and ask that you do too - that is why we have a sign requesting our guests put the dirty towels on the floor so we only wash the dirty towels, you KNOW that we change all towels and linens in the room - your room was clean when you checked in - you should not intimate that it was otherwise - perhaps you were upset that you had to pay for the extra person you forgot to mention when you made your booking.

I had a great time at the Safed Inn, the owners were wonderful. The gardens were a marvel. Safed (the town) is well worth the trip, especially for anybody interested in Jewish and Israeli history, which is still unfolding here! How many other towns have an old howitzer/mortar mounted on a pedestal as a monument? This is a place immersed in mysticism. Shabbat is taken seriously here, so be ready! The inn is a ways out of the center of town, but is easily reached by bus, as I did. There is a good grocery store near the inn, which has a kiichen. The scenery is magnificent. Check it all out, and stay at the Safed Inn.

This isn't just a place to stay while you site see in Sfat, this is a vacation and a sanctuary. We were made a part of the family from the minute we made the reservation. The location is outside the city on a huge (for Israel) piece of property with a very convenient bus stop right across the street. On an 18 day journey, our group of 3 stayed in six different properties. The Safed Inn was our favorite, even though it required a bus or short taxi ride into town. The owners are accommodating, sociable, and extremely knowledgeable about Israel, so we enjoyed excellent conversation with them. The grounds have plants and flowers all around. The included breakfast is plentiful and delicious (eggs to order).
