Dirty Laundry

Posted Nov 17, 2017
I stayed at the Double Tree recently for a business trip. All in all it is a nice hotel, and that is what I expected when I booked it. The only real issue I had was the front des and trying to get my clothes laundered. I took my clothes down in a bag handed it to the person at the front desk and he politely told me that the clothes would be back 7:00 in the evening. I came back to pick up the clothes later that evening and the front desk told me that my clothes had not returned and to check back in the morning. The next morning I call the front desk about my clothes and they said they would check for the clothes and call me back. 15 minutes later someone knocks on my door with the same bag of dirty clothes that I took down to the front desk the day before, with absolutely no explanation. I went down and asked the front desk about it and they told me that it was my fault because I didn't get the clothes downstairs on time (which is a lie) She offered no apology and quickly went on to her next task to avoid talking to me.... I will never stay at this hotel again.

Better options

Posted Nov 16, 2017
Arrived at 2:30 and was told my room would not be available for an hour. Checkin was at 3:00 and I had a meeting to get to. Manager was able to get me a different room. Since I reserved through Expedia they would not allow me to have WiFi without having to pay for it even though I have been a reward member for many years. Seemed to be wanting to charge for anything and everything. There is just more accommodating hotels around that seem to want to make your business more.

manager needs to improve customer service

Posted Nov 8, 2017
I got a deep cut on my finger while moving microwave forward (the microve kept sliding back when i tried to pushed on to open the door) Instead of asking if I am ok or if I need a bandage for my cut, the manager said “you should not move the microwave “. ??? other receptionists are nice. Pinky (receptionist) came to my room to fill incident report and apologized.

We are sold out - So you do not get a room-Oct 28

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Pros: I have good remembrances of this place that are long gone, and never to see again!
Cons: They have an issue with their employees, room catering ladies are overworked and underpaid according to their own words!
I only got my room at 20h30 because room wasn't clean yet. If it wasn't enough; I was denied of any privilege I might have on Hilton Honors because I was ... an Expedia customer. So, I got a nice and easy $260 undesired sell up for internet and parking that I could not see coming when I booked through Expedia!

Well placed for the Galleria

Posted Nov 7, 2017
Pros: Well placed for conference held at the Galleria
Cons: Electrical wiring in room struggles with the number of electric facilities provided (coffee maker, microwave, TV).
Location: The Galleria Shopping Mall and a range food outlets scattered around the many hotels in the general area.
Hotel is 1 1990's design - limited facilities for business travel, uncomfortable for working in the evening, but OK if that not an issue.

Bad Air Conditioning

Posted Oct 26, 2017
I had room 1708 on the Honors floors. The thermostat kept resetting to a higher temp every four hours. I would wake up hot and have to reset. Front desk said it was part of their green program. Great, the hotel saves a few pennies and I get exhausted due to lack of sleep. Two of four elevators only seemed to be working at any given time - long waits. This hotel has seen better days.
