Hotel late having our room ready, air not working

Check in was at 3pm, we arrived a little earlier at 2:40pm and was told to wait til 3 and the room would be ready and to come back then. Okay, cool.This was not so. Come 5:40pm our room was still not ready. Took another 10 minutes from then to get a room together which was NOT what I booked and paid for. We booked an EXCE King suite, they asked if we’d take a double bed room or wait another hour for a King. At this point we had somewhere to be at 7 and said we need Our room! The end up booked us in a King handicap accessible room on the first floor. Once we return from our outing, we noticed the room was as warm. No access to control our own thermostat. By 3am we were sweating, call the front desk they asked us did we want the technician to come look at it. We said yes. No one ever showed

Best Place in the Galleria

My stay at Hyatt House was nothing short of amazing. The room was beyond my expectation, but looked just like the pictures posted online. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. It was probably also the reason so many people were downstairs working at the bar because it was a great atmosphere. I left Hyatt House to stay in another hotel closer to my location, but that was a mistake. The place that I am in now is horrible and made me really appreciate the service and clean facility that the Hyatt provided.

Could still smell mold in the lower floors.

Overall the hotel was ok. It was not one of the better Hyatt hotels. They still had a smell of mold in the hallway in the first floor.

Mediocre....expected better

Pros: Location

Location: Good location with a variety of things to do in the area and close to Loop 610 and Hwy. 59
Booked three rooms since our regular place to stay was booked. Overall experience was just "OK" not great for the price. Breakfast was marginally "OK" also ..Overall atmosphere was one of confusion. The property did not appear to be well managed. Totally understand that hurricane evacuees were there, some probably long term, which should be all the more reason to step it up a few notches and make the property and experience excellent. Hope this helps improvement.

Not do frindly staff

Room was OK, breakfast was good, but the hotel staff were not friendly or professional. Only one eleveter, needed to walk all the way to the opposite side.

Gotta pay $16 a day to park

Although clean and spacious, the hotel is just starting to show signs of wear. As an extended-stay hotel it gets high marks: full-size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, etc., but the cook top is small (2 burners) and jammed in next to a wall making it almost impossible to use safely. That aside, if you need to stay someplace for a while, I give it fairly high marks - I'd stay there again. My only real beef: the $16/day parking fee (though the secured parking is nice - it just wasn't disclosed up front) and the demand that I give them a credit card for incidentals - because I "might" want to charge something to my room - I NEVER do this, so demanding my card was ludicrous.
