Nice hotel in a nice area outside of Galveston

Pros: The beds were incredibly comfy and I enjoyed the staff.
Cons: The pool is a little small. I would imagine this doesn't matter to most people as it is near the beach.
Location: There is a burger place next door that is amazing. It is right next to a very nice, cheap movie theater and the mall.
Was a very enjoyable visit. The room was very nice and clean. The customer service was excellent.

Bad Experience

We called ahead to let the hotel know that we would be a very late arrival. Due to other engagements we couldn't leave our home until 10pm and would probably not arrive until 2am. When we arrived the hotel lobby was open, but no one was behind the desk. We rang the bell 3 different times and even yelled out was anyone there. No one came to the desk. I tried calling the direct number to the hotel and it dropped the call each time (I tried 3 times). So, I called the 800# for reservations and spoke with someone who said the hotel clerk was probably making their rounds and that the desk was manned 24 hours. Give it another 15 minutes & call back if no one came. The young girl did finally come out of the back room and you could tell she had been asleep. Okay, it was a little after 2:30am at that time. It took her another 15 minutes to get us checked in (2 rooms). We went to our rooms and they were hot. We got our 84 year old aunt settled in her room. Went to ours and same thing it was hot. Got the A/C working and looked into the bathroom. Only a bath mat and a wash rag, no hand towels or bath towels. In the shower was a used bar of soap and shampoo container. I called down to the front desk (now after 3am) and asked for towels. I had to go get them at the front desk. The other issue we had with the "night" clerk was when we asked about breakfast she said it was from 6am-10am. We came down for breakfast to find out it closed at 9am. So, no breakfast for us.

Smelly room and rude lady

The lady at the front desk was very rude and the room smelled of mildew so my asthma flared up and I had a horrible night sleeping.

The front desk attendant on file has been corrected for her actions. We always want our guests to have a homey welcome to our town of Texas City. I have also spoke with maintenance about the smell you reported. We are looking at our AC and making sure they are functioning correctly. We sincerely apologize about the experience you had with us. The staff was nice except for the room being dirty when we checked in and stay dirty the 2 days we were there the cleaning staff needs to be retrained or replaced everything else was descent

Had 2 rooms one smelled like smoke one smelled old

They did change tge smoke smelling room to another one
