Super cute hotel accross from Seawall

Posted Aug 22, 2015
We got off to a bad start. The Expedia listing described our "Deluxe" room as having a king-size bed, and sleeping arrangements for 5. Great! Just what I wanted. You can imagine the sinking feeling I had when we learned the room was actually a typical hotel room with ONE king bed, nothing else. Where are we all going to sleep? The desk manager (who was aware of the "wording" of the Expedia listing) quickly changed us to a 2 queen standard room. I had purposely chosen this hotel based on my desire for a larger than standard room, so I was annoyed. But...the hotel was super cute. Very attractive decor, with a sort of funky, retro vibe. We had paid extra for a view of the gulf. Which we had. Every room in this hotel has a beach view, regardless of what you pay. But, apparently, the extra $$ pays for a room on one of the upper floors, with an unobstructed view. We loved our little balcony, and the adorable bright orange retro mini-fridge. The carpet was pretty nasty. I can imagine it's hard to keep carpet clean so close to the beach. Maybe it's time to just quit trying and install wood or tile floors. Shower was gorgeous. The toilet was wierd--it made a very loud sound after flushing. Sounded like an airplane taking off! Pretty disconcerting, especially at night. Best thing about our stay was the exceptional service. The desk clerks always greeted us, the desk manager knew my name, and even sent a complimentary cupcake when I finished my seminar at UTMB. Sweet!

Great location ! Great food and drinks!

Most staff was great! Housekeeping is pretty slow on getting rooms cleaned, but if you asked, they got to it quick! Pool needs to be cleaned more often! Bar drinks and food was great!! Overall stay was pretty good!

Pros: Location and staff
Great location. Good hotel. Pool was nice. Very close to everything. Little pricey, but what do you expect for being on the beach at this time of year (Aug 14-16)

Great beachside atmosphere

Posted Aug 14, 2015
We arived right at time for check-in. Room was clean and ready, we stepped out onto the balcony and there it was......the ocean. Great view of the ocean and the pool. The salty air, the light roar of the waves, and the calls of the seagulls. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Pool was clean and refreshing. Swim up bat was neat, drinks were tasty and cold. We ate at the bar one night, food was great as was the service. We will be back.

Great location and great employees

Posted Aug 2, 2015
Pros: Staff was great. Always a hello or greeting when you passed by. Plus the surprise from Brandi and Deanne.
Cons: While our room was excellent clean, and the carpet was 'clean' - it was pretty stained and does need a hard shampooing.
Location: On the seawall, across from the beach; less than a mile walk to the Pleasure Pier and Fish Tales; & other good restaurants & souvenir shops
Chose the hotel for the location -view of the gulf, on the seawall, great walking to attractions & restaurants. We were greeted by Brandi and a young male ( sorry - didn't get his name ) upon arrival in the lobby. Both were so welcoming & friendly. An older man congreige was very nice too and just insisted in helping with our bags while we parked. : ) Parking was ample and convenient access right to the hotel back doors. Room was exactly as promised - although the hotel does need to shampoo the carpet ( clean, but stained ). Bed & pillows were comfy. The air conditioning was straining a bit with the intense heat but we were great. We didn't get to try the pool or bar area as it WAS still during the summer break and the area was FULL of people & children everywhere. Hotel staff was always very welcoming & while I had forgotten that I had mentioned that it was our anniversary when I checked in, Brandi did not forget. She and the clerk the next night totally surprised us with balloons, a card, adorable bride & groom rubber ducklings, and a bottle of champagne on ice. It was sooooo wonderful and really made our trip. Definitely will stay here again.

Close to everything. Swim up bar

Room was fine. Pillows and bed great. Carpet was horrible. They cleaned the room and didn't leave any towels. I had to call 3 times to get any. They did deduct the 10$ a day parking though.
