Pros: Staff, breakfast
Cons: We thought there was a musty smell when we first entered the hotel and especially from the parking garage.
Location: Great Location!
Nice hotel. Very friendly staff from the front desk to the housekeeping services. Breakfast had a great variety of food.

Very clean hotel on the sea wall

This is a well-priced, clean hotel on the Galveston sea wall. The staff was very friendly and helpful - they let us check in 3 or 4 hours early. The room and bathroom were immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. There was a slight moldy smell coming from the air conditioner, but it didn't bother us too much. We would stay here again.

Mould infested

Once arriving there was no one at the front desk. After calling out several times someone came and said that the manager was not in but they could check us in. Once we got to our floor the smell of mould was overwhelming. Our room was worse. You could see the mould on the walls and the room was extremely humid and outdated. When we spoke with another guest they said their room was the same and they asked to switch rooms only to find out there was no difference. The hotel says this is normal but it is not. After staying one night we left and moved to another hotel on the sea wall which did not have this issue. There was no one at the front desk when we tried to get refunded and caused issues when Expedia tried to contact them. It took 2 days to reach someone. As a result of the mould I developed a cough the night we stayed and was sick for the rest of my trip. This hotel should be condemned as it is a health hazard. The smell from the mould stayed on my clothes until I came back from my trip 5 days later and washed them. Will never go back or recommend this hotel.

sorry your having to deal with this issue, Being so close to the Ocean does make the area vulnerable to humidity.

Good hotel for price

Nice room with a little balcony and view of the sea. Good value for across the road from the sea wall. Close to one of the piers which had a good restaurant.

Disappointed

Pros: The rooms appeared clean and free of bugs. But nope not one but two bugs. ugh!!!
Cons: To get a call back from the manager to get this resolved. I still lay in bed and feel like I feel a bug on my leg every now and then. :(
Location: Beach across the street.
I was very excited to spend time in this hotel, I was there on March 16th-March 20th. On March 18th by my toilet was this large 2in bug that looked like a coach roach. I called down at the desk and asked if I could have someone come and kill it and pick it up. I couldn't go to the restroom because it was by the toilet. The front desk said she would send housekeeping up, well they never showed before I had to leave. So I missed breakfast because of waiting for someone to show, because I wanted to make sure the bug was killed and didn't just move around my room. So I found a guy walking down the hallway and he came into my room and killed this bug and disposed of it for me(an employee I found out). So I'm like okay, that's only one bug, so I'm like as long as there is no more. Well on my last night there, I felt something on my leg in bed, and kicked around and found the same kind of bug, I got no sleep all night. I do have pictures of these bugs. I did call the hotel to talk to the manager the next day and was told I would be called the next day. I have yet to hear from them. I am very disappointed in this company. I will try one more time to talk to the manager, if I hear nothing again I will post pictures and my experience on Yelp. I do not want anyone else to experience this.

Hotel on the seawall

WiFi unsecured and intermittent. Room was musty and felt damp. Had to get new keys twice when the old ones failed to work.

Let down

It was close to the beach. But, for the cost of the hotel, I expect the room to have been cleaned. There were pieces of food from the previous guest on the floor in front of the balcony door. Big enough to know it was pizza. We didn't have cups for our ice bucket, not even sure the bedding had been washed. Staff would not help me get my IHG reward points. Had to ask for towels multiple times. We booked well in advance and showed up after check in time and my friends room was not ready. They stood in the hall waiting for an hour and finally had to ask for another room, which was ready. Why send them up to a room that wasn't cleaned yet? Very let down for an IHG hotel!

We try to ensure that all our guest that arrive prior to check in time have a room for them when they arrive. Even those who want to check out late the next day. We constantly battle with ensure all are guest are comfortable. We are sorry we failed you.

CLOSE TO SEAWALL

Pros: Clean lobby and nice breakfast
Close to seawall but also at the quiet end of Galveston. The room had a view of the Gulf and a nice sitting area on the balcony. The breakfast area is very nice and clean; there is a nice selection of food

Room was dirty, smelly and carpet was disgusting. Bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. Breakfast buffet was a plus though.
