Locks on rooms do NOT work.

Locks on room doors do not work. Had staff let us in each time with tool, flat head screw driver. Manager says they have been requesting a fix for years. Say it's the moisture in air. Note to ownership - your spending a fortune on maintainsnve crew letting people in rooms , reprogramming jets & replacing batteries. The property is by the ocean, go old school - physical keys. Who help guests feel safe. Not to mention safety factor of being able to access room in an emergency

No hot water, the handle of the shower came off, no remote for tv, the tv reception was horrible.

Driving in, the motel seems nice. Perfect location. Elevator is so slow. People seem shady around there. Room stunk like cigarette smoke. Restroom not cleaned correctly. Hair was still in bathtub and behind the door. Tub was awful looking like it was plastered back together. Killed a small roach on wall. Threw a towel in there before I stepped in to take a shower. Breakfast was toast cereal milk coffee. Waffles on wkds only! I contemplated staying a2nd nite,but unfortunately room was prepaid. Very disappointed.

Pros: The manager Cynthia did her best to help out.
Cons: Fire the staff and start over.
Location: Next door to Kroger and on the beach, but without a beach view.
Door wouldnt lock, camode leaked, roach came out of light socket when using hair dryer, had to go get more towels even though there were only two people in room. Scary crowd outside. Staff stood around doing nothing.

Pros: Kesha, night time front desk staff member
Cons: hire more keshas
front desk staff was phenomenal, kasha was awesome at night, morning staff was just as good. the room was giving that beach hotel vibe, which is really all you need.

Pros: Price
Cons: Carpet in the rooms, not just small strips by the bed. The building could use a paint job. Peeling paint on every surface.
Location: Moody Gardens is a little more than 2 miles away. Very convenient.
It was convenient and relatively close to Moody Gardens. No carpet in the rooms leads to dirty feet when getting in bed after a shower. The vinyl floors are apparently not mopped on a regular basis. When getting to the room, check the towels and rags. My room had 3 towels and 0 bath rags.

change the reviews on expedia, this hotel need a lot of work from the rooms to the loby, sheets and blankets were dirty, hell even the tv remote control was sticky. red roof needs to go from hotel to a 2 stars motel

Nice hotel close to the beach.

Nice staff and facilities. Unfortunately our room heater did not work either did the phone. Once we pulled back the sheets we found dirt under the sheets. Other than that everything else was fine.
