Great Hotel for the price.

Posted Aug 24, 2015
Pros: I liked that it was cheap, and had everything I needed for an awesome weekend in Galveston. I also liked that the smoking room didn't smell like smoke
Cons: Could use some waffles at the continental breakfast ;)
Location: Its on Ferry Rd. about 100 yds. from the ferry landing. It is a mile or so from the seawall, and UTMB. A little off the normal path.
I wanted to take a last minute overnight trip to Galveston before school started. I found this hotel on expedia and needless to say I was a little skeptical at first. Firstly, this hotel was 200+ dollars cheaper than most other hotels on the island, and due to its location on Ferry road. The road near the hotel has been set up so that the ferry line does not effect the patrons staying at the hotel, and the accommodations at the hotel itself were more than accommodating for a simple trip. It is a very simple room, but has everything one would need for a weekend at the beach. The pool is small but very well kept. Its definitely not a 5 star hotel, or anything close to a resort but for someone planning a trip to Galveston on a budget, you could not ask for a cleaner, more accommodating stay than this. Upon arrival the hotel my expectations were exceeded immediately. The lobby was nice, clean, and simple; that trend seemed to be the story for the entire hotel. It was clean and simple, the rooms had basic cable television, clean bathroom, and a small kitchenette equipped with a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and sink separate from the bathroom. I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone who does not feel they need room service, or silver spoons for a good time. I had a great time, and the hotel and staff were awesome. Beware, there is no elevator and the rooms are on the 2nd and 3rd floor. Not very handicap accessible, so call if needed.

Just OK

Posted Aug 18, 2015
Pros: They did give access to the washer and dryer free of charge. They had a beautiful lobby and eating area. The owners were quite nice.
Cons: Curtains were not held in place well. The rod should be tighter. Somehow more light needs to be let into the room..
Location: Location off the main road. Many things to do: shopping, beach, waterpark, old town, historical homes.
OUr experience was ok. The rooms were clean but dark; so it felt uncomfortable going inside. But, overall our stay was good. The breakfasts were simple but ample. It was off the beaten track which was ok; but to go to the beach it wasn't as convenient. We did find some free parking so that helped.

A little wear and tear but overall clean

Posted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: It was a very quiet hotel and close to the ferry (it's right at the ferry terminal). The staff was very friendly.
Cons: Either provide more clean towels iinitially, automatically replace them daily, or provide a way for the guest to alert staff for the need for new ones
Location: located at the islands far east end right next to the ferry terminal; just a short drive to the beach, multiple restaurants and shopping
This was a family vacation to Galveston for 3 nights, 3 days. The staff at check-in was very friendly and helpful. The first room they put us in didn't have a sufficiently working A/C (in our opinion) so they promptly moved us to a different room that was much cooler. The information on Expedia said this hotel offered breakfast but we weren't given any information on this by the staff. This wasn't a big deal for us though since we don't always eat breakfast most days. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable but I'm glad we had our own pillows from home. The carpet, while not stained, did show where they must have rearranged the furniture or moved the bed because you could see a large area in the carpet where it was a totally different color than the rest of the floor. We were there 3 days but they never brought any clean towels so it was a good thing we hung our towels up to dry and recycle. While the hotel appears to have some age issues, it looks as though the owner has attempted some self renovation with pain, ceramic tile, etc. The hotel seems a little aged but it is clean and comfortable. It's a good bang for the buck and we would definitely stay here again.

Great location! We were very happy with how nice the hotel is and for such a great price! Our daughters loved the pool! You are right by the ferry but don't hear any noise from inside the room. Loved the mini kitchen! We will definitely stay again.

Clean and friendly staff.

Pricey on the weekends! The hotel is located right next to the Bolivar fairy which has tremendous traffic (Galveston police are constantly in the area due to the amount of vehicle boarding the fairy). The room was very clean and the staff were very accommodating to our needs. We had friends arriving late while we were out and the staff approached them asking why they were there. (Made us feel the hotel didn't allow freeloaders just hanging around) However the shower water pressure was really low and the A/C unit didn't seem to work properly. Overall the stay was nice with the feel of a secure stay and friendly welcome.
