Very comfortable and dog friendly hotel.

Posted Oct 17, 2016
Location: An ideal stopping off point when exploring the wild atlantic way west of Galway City.
Set in extensive gardens this hotel was splendid. Comfortable and well appointed room, good lounge facilities, excellent restaurant for both dinner and breakfast and very friendly staff. We were made to feel at home and our dog was warmly welcomed.

Quaint and quiet

Posted Sep 20, 2016
Pros: The staff were some of the friendliest people I have ever experienced in the hospitality trade. Met the lovely Mrs. McEvilly. It has a bar.
Cons: Some of the wall treatments could be modified. They might want to think about wi-fi boosters through out the building for convenience sake.
Location: There are hiking trails nearby and it is about a 30 minute drive from Clifden.
This is an older establishment that has a bit of history to it. It is located in County Connemara in a remote area. Very quiet and relaxing. We were greeted by the manager Ray and he was very helpful in getting our bags in and upstairs. There is evening dining onsite. A 4 course meal which while filling was not excessive. We ate there both nights and the service and food were wonderful. The wi-fi only works reliably in one room of the hotel, but there is a fireplace in that room which makes it cozy. The decor is a step back in time of about 50 years, but if you know that going in, then it is acceptable. Wondrous gardens on the grounds. There is a generous breakfast buffet served as part of the night stay, much to pick from, fresh meats, yogurts and they cook a meal to order for you in addition to the buffet at no extra charge. The coffee was more in tune with Americano than other places we stayed in Ireland, so it was much appreciated that it was not too strong.

Spectacular Surroundings and Gardens in Connemara

Posted Jun 25, 2016
Pros: Cashed House dates way back. The English (Irish?) Gardens around the property are magnificent.
Cons: Rooms need upgrading. Wifi was spotty and needs to be upgraded to cover entire facility and rooms.
Location: Spectacular Connemara! Close to the quaint town of Clifden - great little shops and restaurants. Terrific Avoca Woolens shop on way to Clifden.
Wonderful 2 night stay at Cashel House. Exceptional service and attention to detail. Room very clean. Comfy bed. Only drawback is the dated decor and fixtures (e.g TV, phones, lamps). Rooms need updating. Dining experience was highly impressive. Food was terrific. Mostly locally sourced ingredients and wide variety of menu items.

Wonderful, gentle hotel

Fantastic old wold hotel in an isolated setting. The rooms are luxurious. Beds are very comfortable. Staff is excellent and attentive. The grounds and garden are impressive, as is the small beach in the sun and in a moonlit night. could spend a full day before the turf fire.

This hotel was recommended by a friend who had stayed there over 10 years ago. It was apparently good then and it remains so. Highly recommended

The location is a bit off the beaten path but it was as though we were dropped into the time period of the Titanic and staying at a resort where the wealthy would relax. The hotel and rooms were very Victorian and the breakfast superb.
