Welcoming, friendly stay close to good walks

Posted Jul 7, 2015
Pros: The atmosphere
Cons: Our room was on the ground floor, so we heard quite a bit of noise of people coming and going late on a Saturday night and in the mornings
Location: It's right on the edge of Connemara National Park - you don't need a car to do some nice walks. Further afield there's plenty to see.
We had a great stay at Letterfrack Lodge - the staff made us feel really welcome and the food in the restaurant is really excellent, the wine was great too. The ground floor room we were in was very clean and the bathroom was nice, the beds comfy. A great choice for a budget stay.

Excellent for down to earth people.

The room and facilities were very nice, the people managing it were very nice, helpful and friendly, the cafe was very good. A bonus to have use of a kitchen when needed. The only drawback was they did not take credit cards but there was an ATM walking distance to lodge. I would recommend it if you like down to earth people and places.

Charming Lodge

Posted Oct 23, 2014 on Hotels
Great place to stay right by the national park and the best hikes in the area. It's a lodge (with a hostel above), so realize the rooms won't quite be "hotel" level; but for being in such a remote place, everything is nice enough. It's clean and comfy. Maybe bring your own pillow cases or towel though. Tons of character, a good restaurant, and an amazing staff also go a long way. Just go into your stay knowing you won't be at a Hyatt and everything will be fine.

Letterfrack stay

Posted Jun 4, 2014 on Hotels
When we arrived they were busy with the restaurant side and we had to wait until they noticed us. When I went to check out they would not take a credit card - cash only. So this needs to be updated on their website because we didn't have enough cash and had to go withdraw at a local atm. Was not very pleased with this.

I Stayed here on Saturday 5th April. I could not fault the place at all and would highly recommend it if you're considering it. Friendly staff, Very clean bedrooms (as well as the whole complex) and excellent location.

Clean rooms, good location

Spent 2 nights there: clean and large room, comfortable bed, nice and hot shower. Didn't try the breakfast. Located right at 200m from Connemara National Park and 4km from Kylemore Abbey, with 2/3 restaurants, pubs and a shop right around the corner.
