Old Drab HotelPosted Sep 21, 2015
Pros: Convenient to center of town, but very noisy.
Cons: Paint! New furniture and and a thorough cleaning! A clock in the room. Shades or blinds in the bathroom.
Location: Quick walk to all the action in Shop Street. However, Eyre Square is very dirty and unappealing.
Not impressed. Very noisy. Very drab. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Everything you need at the heart of Galway...Posted Sep 20, 2015
Would highly recommend staying here! Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly (including the bubbly woman who checked us in/out and Colin on the night shift). The elevator was broken but she cheerfully helped us carry up our bags. We had requested a quiet room so they gave us a lovely spacious room with three beds (!) on the third floor. We weren't expecting the most luxurious room in the world for the great deal we got, but it was perfectly clean, the tub was great for a good soak and the windows on the angled roof let in the perfect amount of glorious light. Breakfast was very nicely served and tasty. They have a charming pub & An Pucan is across the street--great for their lamb special, huge whiskey selection, and live music. Really don't need to go far with accommodations that are so well situated next to Eyre Square, the two principal train/bus/tour bus stations in town, and all the happy sights and activities Galway has to offer!

Great location!!Posted Sep 16, 2015
Pros: Location is perfect!
Cons: In-room safes are needed.
Location: Tigh Fox is a lovely pub nearby. Take a stroll around Shop Street, High Street, Quay Street, Spanish Arch, Claddagh, Galway Bay, etc.
I stayed at Eyre Square Hotel from September 4-12, 2015, for a solo vacation. Pros: - Great location! It is right near the bus and train stations. Close to some nice pubs, including ones with trad music. A quick walk to Shop Street, High Street, Quay Street, the Spanish Arch, the Claddagh area, Galway Bay, etc. - Friendly, helpful staff. - Nice restaurant, bar, and coffee shop attached to the hotel. - I stayed on the second floor, not facing Forster Street. Not much of a view. However, it was super quiet. I didn't have a problem with noise at all. - I was traveling alone. I felt safe in my room, in the hotel, and on the street where the hotel is located. - Free wifi in the hotel, including my room! Cons: - There was no in-room safe. - Not the fanciest or biggest room in the world. This wasn't a problem for me because I was only in my room to sleep. The rest of the time, I was off exploring. - The facilities could use an upgrade - some threadbare carpets, nicked wood, etc. Again, this didn't bother me, but I know it might put some people off. It didn't seem dirty! Just well-worn. I would stay here again and suggest it to friends or family! Thanks!!

Lovely hotel close to Eyre SquarePosted Sep 8, 2015
Pros: Room size. Location.
This hotel was perfect for our brief stay in Galway. A 5 minute walk to both the bus and train station made it perfect for getting to and from the city. It's proximity to Eyre Square meant an easy walk to all the key spots to visit including the waterside. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The room was a very good size with nice amenities. The staff were helpful and friendly. While it wasn't a bother for us, some might find it a bit loud. You can hear the music from a local bar in the room however that ends at midnight and the street noise is audible. Someone looking for complete quiet may want to go elsewhere but for those like us who are wanting to experience the city and nightlife, it was a perfect spot. And great value.

Nice hotel close to sitesPosted Sep 6, 2015
Pros: Staff, Internet, location, and across the street from the Al Pusan (pub) and the grocery store
Cons: The hotel is older and could use some upgrades but overall a very nice stay. The pub is across the street so can be noisy.
Location: You can walk to most of the sites and the city... or rent a bike across the street, the grocery store and the pub across the street.
Very welcoming and helpful staff. We could walk to the sites that are in Galway...the castle and Salthill can be seen if you rent a bike. Breakfast was nice. We wanted a pub that had good food at a good price and a nice atmosphere and they recommended the pub across the street called the An Pucan...really nice. The internet in the room was great. The hotel is older and needs an upgrade in some areas but overall it was a great stay. The grocery store is also across the street. The pub across the street can be a little noisy but we chose to be in the front... if you like it quiet you might ask for a room in the rear of the hotel

교통의 편리성Posted Aug 16, 2015
Pros: 접근성 우수
코치스테이션, 기차역에서 5분 이내에 위치하고 있어 접근성이 매우 좋은편에 속한다. 호텔바, 식당의 가격이 합리적이고 음식도 괜찮은 편.

Clean. Close to centre and transportation! Good.Posted Aug 1, 2015
Pros: As above.
Cons: As almost all Irish & English hotels - there are never enough hooks and towel racks in the bathrooms!
Location: Close to the pedestrian centre of town, and has good pubs and music close by.
We got off the bus and went around the corner to the hotel. They had our reservation correct, and were very friendly and helpful. The room wasn't large, but it was clean and comfy. I'd recommend it. And it was very close to everything we wanted to see. Great location.

This hotel was decent, well-located, friendly staff. Breakfast was horrible though. Other than that, it was fine! People were loud while I was trying to sleep, not the hotel's fault though!

Hotel bien situé, mais bruyant.Posted Jul 18, 2015

Surprising gem.Posted Jul 11, 2015
Pros: Location, cleanliness and friendly/ attentive staff.
Cons: Easier way to drop off bags from a vehicle.
Location: This is a great base from which to explore Western Ireland.
I selected this hotel because of the good location in Galway and it turned out to be a surprising gem. It served all of my needs - price, location and appeal.
