Nice enough but not worth the costPosted Aug 4, 2017
Pros: Nice grounds while you were outside on the lake/golf course side.
Location: Be prepared to drive.
Had a one-night reservation here. Got a room facing a walled yard because a wedding got all the rooms facing the lake and golf course. From the room, we could hear people attending the wedding talking in the halls all evening. This is a restored structure, so it was old though mostly modernized. The basement restaurant/bar was good. For the most part the stay was OK, but it was far pricier than other hotels we stayed at on our trip and that we considered to be much better in their fundamental offerings, as well as in the service and incidental amenities.

Great Hotel near GalwayPosted Jul 2, 2017
This turned out to be a great crash pad close to Galway! We were nearby throughout the day and it was just a short drive away. Check-in was quick and painless even though we were coming in quite late. Only complaint is that the shaving kit I had ordered took about an hour to come to the room and the razor was quite terrible. I'm not sure why this field is requiring such a long response in order to submit the form, but I find that quite annoying as well.

Great hotel in country side with spacious rooms.Posted Jul 1, 2017
Pros: Spacious and comfortable rooms.
Cons: Bathrooms a bit small.
Location: Golf, bike ride.
Beautiful property on lovely golf course- staff greeted us warmly and showed us around the hotel and to our room. Very friendly and always open for questions or sharing information. Our rooms were adjoining, which was great with our kids next-door. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. Good food and atmosphere in restaurant downstairs. Pool/game room and movie room for kids to enjoy.

Excellent hotel and staff.Posted Jun 24, 2017
Pros: I liked the setting and location.
Location: This hotel is a great location for day trips to the Cliffs of Moher and the Knock Shrine.
I would highly recommend the Glenlo Abbey Hotel. It is quiet and has a beautiful setting that is perfect for couples. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. They provided a wonderful breakfast. I would not suggest taking kids to this hotel.

Wonderful gem close to GalwayPosted Jun 11, 2017
Pros: Grounds are beautiful
We really enjoyed our stay at Glenlo Abbey. Beautiful grounds, friendly staff. Nice rooms. No AC but fan provided which helped. Well located to Galway and surrounding area, close enough to the city but not too close. Loved the old school room keys, haven't had a regular room key in years!

Nicest hotel in all of Ireland.Posted May 16, 2017
Pros: The mix of old-world elegance and outdoor activities.
After a long day traveling, we were welcomed by Dierdre and settled into the piano parlor for a glass of wine before retiring. The rooms were spacious, elegant, and comfortable. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, in a beautiful setting. We had an exciting and very educational falconry experience after breakfast before leaving for the Cliffs of Moher. We cannot wait to return!
