Location: A nice walk into the nearby town.
An excellent place to relax overnight on our way from Galway to Dublin. The room was luxurious.

Was a really fancy hotel to stay in and a great place to recharge after spending a week travelling ireland. About a 30 min drive from Gallaway as well. Extremely nice pool, gym, sauna and steam room, the best i've ever seen in a hotel

Good hotel to have in ballinasloe.

The shearwater is a fine hotel with modern rooms and nice bathrooms. Normally underground parking is available but none when we arrived possibly due to a function on or just full that night. A few negatives were that there were not enough towels in the bathroom and the sheets felt thin to me. Some more electric sockets by bed would be helpful in this age of device charging! Breakfast was variable- great fresh fruit salad and scrambled eggs but sausages and white puddings left a lot to be desired. Good service in general.

Nice clean hotel close to family

Posted Oct 4, 2015
Pros: Great breakfast, bar bistro food was good, steaks done rare were excellent and band music was good
Cons: Towels. Some were torn along the edges and could be used as rags
Location: We enjoyed visiting Clonmacnoise, took a boat ride on the Shannon, had lunch at Hodson Bay Hotel and took the next boat back to Athlone.
We had a great time, enjoyed visiting with family and traveling around the area.
