Not Handicap Friendly

Posted May 22, 2018
Its a beautiful hotel but there are not Elevators for Handicap people. Also I needed to keep my insulin and my A1C lowering shot refrigerated but was offered ice. No where on the hotels site says that its not handicap friendly. I of coarse was on the top floor. So me and my husband stayed out all day so i wouldnt have to keep climbing the stairs. The buffet for breakfest was very good. We stayed for 3 days

I was somewhat disappointed as I misunderstood the booking; I had to pay an additional $25 to have a Jacuzzi tub in our room. Other than that, the staff was very helpful and our stay was very relaxing.

When I booked the Inn thru Expedia,I was led to believe that I would not have to pay extra for the Lower level Motel section . The rooms need to be redone ,eg the cabinets/tables in the rooms need to be refinished. The best part of our experience was the Dinning room for breakfast ,looking out to the lake,it was excellent and so was the morning Dinning room staff.. It would have been better to be informed that most of the Inn was not open for business until the May long weekend.

Disappointed

Posted Apr 17, 2018
Pros: NA.
Cons: A clearer reservation expectation!
Disappointed that Inn rooms were not available at check in for this time of the year that we we're looking forward to as for previous times. Expedia reservation process did not alert us to this outcome which was disappointing as we were assigned a room outside of the Inn that didn't meet our expectation!

Cozy , Quiet, Clean

Posted Mar 18, 2018
Fantastic stay. Staff was very friendly. When we arrived, it was just after 9pm. We had not eaten yet. The restaurant in the inn was closed, but they recommended that we try Stonewater, the restaurant across the street. Good suggestion. The rooms are very nice, quaint. I stayed here with my wife and another couple. Each couple had a room with two double beds. i the rooms were clean. Only issue I had at all was the lack of a fridge, but we made do. I would recommend this inn to anyone.

Thank you very much for staying with us here at the Gananoque Inn. We appreciate your lovely comments. Unfortunately due to the age of the Inn we are unable to put refrigerators in the rooms. This would overload the electrical system. Again, thank you and we hope you return.

Thank you for your feedback and we will be sure to look into the website advertising the free breakfast. In the winter months we do not offer breakfast through the week and only only weekends. The website should indicate this. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we hope to see you again.

Nice hotel for summer season.

Posted Feb 21, 2018
Pros: Convenience to river cruise and location
Cons: Noise control between rooms and mail door in Annex
Location: Most shops and restaurants close for the winter season. THe entire town is a summer vacation retreat
Annex room needs upgrading for noise, security and larger TV. Restaurant is not open for breakfast and no fridge / microwave for personal use.

Thank-you for your review. Unfortunately we are a tourist area and during the winter months it is very quiet. Guest Services

Beautiful location on the waterfront, which is as incredible in the winter as in the summer. The hotel itself is an impressive historical building. We stayed in an extension to the main building, in one of about 10 rooms not part of the main building. The staff was excellent, especially in the dining room. The bed was very comfortable, but the plumbing, heating, and lighting in the room could use some maintenance or upgrading.
