Clean, close to interstate

Stayed three nights over the weekend. Was pleased at the cleanliness of our room. Staff was kind and polite.

Great facilities but thin walls

Pros: Staff very friendly & efficient
Cons: Adjacent room noise unusually disturbing
Location: Shopping & restaurants nearby & easily accessible
Fast check in. Staff friendly & responsive. Room clean & neat. The only downside was noise from rooms on either side & above. Conversations could be heard distinctly. Quality operation other than noise issue.

Satisfactory place for an overnight stay

Pros: Location to our other destination in the Birmingham area.
Cons: Designate a smoking area outside. Do some upkeep on the building.
Location: Easy on easy off the interstate.
This hotel is a little worn but is satisfactory for an overnight stay. The room was clean, the service was good, and the breakfast was sufficient. There were several groups of truckers and workers staying there that would congregate outside to smoke and talk. That made it a little difficult to manuever safely outside both by car and foot but it was manageable.

Didn't end up staying here.

Super small...room is the size of a big closet. The A/C didn't work and its summertime in AL....we left. The lady at the front desk was nice enough.

I am sorry you were unhappy. We have repaired the AC unit. The rooms are compact with no wasted space. Next time try a double queen or a spacious suite.

Not worth $99, overpriced for crappy amenities.

Room was fine. No conditioner available upon request, only shampoo. Breakfast was all carbs, except the sausage and eggs, which were FROZEN IN A TUPPERWARE , and you had to microwave it yourself after waiting for someone else to finish using the ONE microwave...please. No plain ice water, even. And when I asked, I was told to get it from the drinking fountain. Yeah, great customer service. Desk clerk stood outside smokung and texting, or, when inside, sitting in the back and texting. Should not be allowed to have personal phone while on duty, very unprofessional. When asked if I would stay again upon leaving, I said "not likely", and desk clerk just snickered. SO not worth my 99 bucks. For the same price, I could have stayed at Hyatt Place, and next time I will.

I apologize your stay with us was not a pleasant one. I have shared your comments with the entire staff so we can address your concerns. Conditioner is a great suggestion to add to our complimentary toiletries. Ice water will be added to our breakfast area. I am sorry you did not enjoy the free continental breakfast featuring make your own breakfast sandwich with English muffins, microwaveable eggs and sausage. We will continue to look at other breakfast options. I will take steps to ensure the staff is better trained to handle customer requests, clear on how to handle breaks, and cellphones. Again my apologies to you and I hope that you will give us another chance.

the room was clean and comfortable, looks like it was recently updated, and nicely done. Would enjoy staying here again. Morning staff was very friendly and helpful.

My stay was okay

Pros: Location, proximity to other businesses that I would typically patronize.

Location: I have family in the area, but I doubt that will be of much interest to your other guests.
Everything was pretty much as expected. One of the reasons we selected Microtel was the "free breakfast". Only cereal, bagels, and waffles... it was "carbolicious". Would have preferred to see some protein (eggs, sausage, bacon) and/or fruit/vegetable offerings. Only other inconvenience was the key card that had to be re-programmed. This is not a Microtel exclusive issue. I find it happens at other hotel chains even when taking special care to avoid subjecting the card to damage. I just think some more work needs to be invested in that technology.

The room was very well maintained. Clean did not reek of smoke, modern plenty of room. Breakfast was clean food was good. Staff was very attentive and helpful. If your look for a good experience you can find it here.
