We adored the family room with the bunk beds, such a great idea for families traveling with young children so we could all be together but have designated space for everyone to sleep. “We’ve stayed here several times and it’s always a lovely & relaxing experience. The building is wonderful and abounds with Georgian character. The only minor criticisms are that our bathroom floor has chunks of grout missing and some areas of painted woodwork that could have benefited from a thorough scrub, and the traffic noise from the main road is quite intrusive at night as the original casement windows haven’t been updated with new glazing. It’s still a wonderful hotel, the staff and menus……

“I booked the Shetland Suite not realising that it had a detached bathroom, it was only on arrival that this came to light, I was very disappointed & whilst the listing does state this I felt the title "suite" was misleading. "room was nice on the whole, but the lights went off from time to time as they was a motion sensor timer. It means that if you want to lie in bed to read or spend too much time in the toilet, maybe 20 mins, the lights would go off suddenly. In one morning, there was no hot water for shower, but the problem had been fixed when I went back at night. Other than these, the hotel is very conveniently located and clean."
