Nice hotel within walking distance of the parkwayPosted Oct 5, 2015
Hotel is ok, the beds are not terrible they just aren't great. The bathroom was pretty rough, shower was slow draining, the tub was pretty dirty.

Nice placePosted Oct 2, 2015
I'd read a lot of reviews. I can honestly say the garage parking spots are very small. I have an all wheel drive Toyota Venza. Had to park in the truck van area. Very tight. The rooms were remodeled and very comfortable. The hallways were the same. I'd read the elevators were a long wait and only 2 for the entire hotel and staff. I did but find this to be an annoyance and the staff are all friendly. The elevators did show their age and a little paint would have done wonders. The elevator had an open glass area that has a view of Gatlinburg. That was very nice. The glass was weathered and needs to be replaced. The location of the hotel is wonderful! If you are a smoker do know this hotel is smoke free. Even the balcony. My husband is a smoker I'm not but found the rule of no smoking on balcony to be a little odd being its outside. But again the hotel is smoke free. You have to go down off of hotel location to smoke. I think there should be a designated area for the guests to smoke. Just my opinion. I would recommend you stay here though. I prefer another hotel down the street it's nice and not so many struck rules. But that's my opinion. I will say I called the front desk when we checked out. It was 5:30 am on a Tuesday and I had to call back. No one was there. Finally a gentleman answered and I told him we were checking out and he said okay thank you. I expected him to ask how our stay was or thank you for staying but nothing. Overall nice older hotel remodeled in best areas

Great hotel in downtown GatlinburgPosted Sep 20, 2015
Enjoyed the spacious room. Hotel location made it easy to walk around town. Only shortcoming was breakfast.

Great Location, view not so muchPosted Sep 19, 2015
Cons: Parking and elevator speed
Location: Great to walking the parkway main drag.
Location was great to downtown, and walking the Parkway. The hotel is ok but dated. The breakfast was good and the staff was helpful. Parking is very tight. Do not be in a hurry if waiting on the elevators. Price was good.

Mountain areaPosted Sep 18, 2015
Was confused about where to go to check in. Need to tell people upon arrival park anywhere in parking garage and take elevator to lobby. Also tell guest mountain view means you are backed up to wooded area and you only see a mountain side right in your face and not a view if the mountain.

Pros: Location and fact that it is close to everything but off the main drag so is quiet.
Cons: Parking is the only issue but that would be pretty much impossiable to improve without major design changes. Not enough of an issue to be a factor.
Location: Convenient to everything!!
Very convenient to everything in Gatlinburgh. The Edgewater shows its age somewhat but no more than the other motels we have stayed at in this city. It is clean and the staff does an excellant job with the only drawback being in the tight and somewhat cramped parking. When you visit leave your large SUV at home! We have stayed here several times with no dissapointments and it has become our place of choice when in Gatlinburgh.

Good Gatlinburg locationPosted Jul 7, 2015 on Hotels
Gatlinburg's main thruway is like a weird crowded carnival so I'm glad we stay one block off, on the little river. It was walking distance to the only restaurant we found acceptable - No Way Jose's. Obviously Mexican, fun and excellent. The only attraction worth seeing was the Ripley's Aquarium - a very close walk and a great place for kids. There's no valet. You self park for free. The hotel is kind of dingy and the room wasn't very clean. It had a little porch, a refrigerator, the bed was comfortable and the TV worked. No HBO or movies. For Garlinburg this is a good choice at a good price. The park entrance is very close.
