Nicely located. Great value for the price.

Not resort quality, but can't beat it for the price. Will definitely stay here again. No noise issues. They accommodated us in a non smoking room when I mistakenly chose a smoking room. Bedding was nice.

Walking distance to the main shopping strip

Upon arrival, check in was fast and easy. Our room was on the second floor, by the exit door. We noticed that that door had been broken, so security was an issue right off the bat! The room needed a paint job, and a new floor (there seemed to be a hole under the carpet). The bed was comfortable, the shower was refreshing, and the view was spectacular! Besides the outside door being unable to be locked, our stay was ok. If we had stayed longer (one night), I would have went to different hotel.

Clean Average Hotel

Pros: Offered smoking rooms
Cons: 24 hour personnel; Tighten electrical sockets
Location: 211 Historic Trail, Gatlinburg, TN,; Many Attractions, Shopping, Restaurants, Pigeon Forge, Dollywood
Courteous personnel. Our stay during the week left us locked in with only one other guest and no personnel after 11pm with an unreliable door to enter and exit through the garage! After being informed this by the front desk clerk, we get in our first room and find the slide lock is broke off! All else, the room was clean as we didn't spend much time in it during our three day stay.

Mediocre hotel overall, but great location

Pros: Location, location, location
Cons: Rooms need to be completely updated, from the furnishings and lighting to the bedsheets.
Location: The strip in downtown Gatlinburg is the place to be, with shops and restaurants and recreational activities, such as skiing, mini golf, etc.
I have stayed in Gatlinburg several times over the years, and always get a hotel on the main strip, walking distance from all of the shops and restaurants because otherwise you have to pay for parking and it gets filled up fast. This was my first stay at Microtel, and while the room fulfilled its purpose of keeping us warm from the winter temperatures, I was disappointed with how outdated it was. The room looked like it hadn't been touched since the 70s, even the electricity was old school and buzzy. The continental breakfast was very limited, which was fine because we had plans to eat at the Pancake Cabin anyway. Overall the price you pay for this hotel is purely for the location, as everything else is dismal at best.

Good location ...

The hotel was very budget friendly and the location was great, but that's about it. The hotel rooms are the smallest I have ever stayed in and the hotel was very cheaply renovated. It reminded me of a college dorm room. When it came to cleanliness it left a lot to be desired.

Good room for the price.

Pros: Room was clean and quiet, staff was friendly and nice. Price was fair.
Cons: No coffee in room, no microwave, WIFI went out several times. Room was quite small.
Location: Location was good, within walking distance of town attractions and convenient in and out driving to the Park.

Nice location; poor quality

Pros: Staffs are friendly.
Cons: Renovate the moldy rooms.
The hotel is in a nice location. It's right at the heart of Gatlinburg's downtown where parking can be really difficult. As a hotel patron, you can park your car there and stroll around the nice downtown area. The rest of the hotel is unpleasant however. Breakfast food is bad, bathtub is moldy, beds are uncomfortable, and hallway wreak of cigarettes.

Exceeded expectations

Location: The hotel is right in the middle of everything so park your car and have a good time.
After reading the negative reviews of this hotel I was very skeptical. I was very pleasantly surprised because the rooms were very clean and the hotel condition was good. They had a very pleasant and accommodating staff. This shows me that you can't always believe what you read.
