Family vacation

We were in the non-touristy part of town which was awesome, but still walking distance to attractions and food. It was a nice setting at the base of the Smokey Mtns. The room was spacious and comfy - great quality for the price. FYI it is no longer a Red Roof Inn, but a Quality Inn. The only thing was that the breakfast was only served until 9am, which for vacationers is a bit early.

This hotel recently changed management. I booked with quality inn which is the hotels new name but confirmations kept being emailed from red roof inn. When I called about this the staff stated they haven't Been red roof inn since October 2015. As for the room, renovations are currently in process I would assume our room was "completed" it had laminate floorings which i did like especially after hiking it was easy to clean. The bed was a little on the hard side but I personally like a hard matteress. The paint job in the room was awful and very sloppy, painters tape didn't seem to be used. Our shower also drained very slow along with the toilet. Multiple flushes were necessary no matter what was in the bowl. Before this stay I had never been to Gatlinburg so I didn't know where anything was on the strip. This hotel is at the very end, we did walk to everything only because parking is awful but if your looking for something in the heart of the strip this hotel isn't the place for that. The hotel does have free wifi but the connection was very low and most of the time both my phone and iPad wouldn't connect. A hot continental breakfast was included open 630-930 which was decent included waffles, biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs. Cereal orange juice apple juice and coffee. Turning left out of the hotel is almost impossible because of traffic and it doesn't sit at a actual traffic light. I don't think I would re book this particular hotel even with the cost being average.

The room was renovated nicely.and we loved the fireplace.it had flat screen tv. And nice bedding even the breakfast was a good selection. I liked that the hotel is nestled in the mountain but yet right there off the main road. It's right across from mountain coaster.
