Nice staff, but room was cramped.

We have stayed at the Westgate before and it was great. The staff both times were really nice. However, the room was extremely cramped this time with lots of places on the wall. The noise was almost unbearable with people above us. I can say that the first experience was amazing, but very disappointed in this stay.

Bring earplugs!

The good - Easy to find, clean, very well staffed and great amenities. Got our room upgraded as per Expedia Gold policy. The bad - Parking was limited, even though we were advised the place was pretty empty that weekend - had to be carted to our room since we couldn't park near our room. Air conditioner ROARS. Paper thin walls - not even joking a little bit. Could hear every word from our neighbors, I could tell what channel they were watching and when they were using the microwave, the shower, etc. The first night when they came back to the hotel, we were already in bed and seriously thought someone was breaking into our room. When they flush the toilet, our toilet gurgled. Neither of us slept well the two nights we were there due to the constant noise from people coming and going from their rooms, cars, stomping, screaming, etc. Found some "owners" and asked if they had the same issues and they acted like it was to be expected, totally normal and they always just bring earplugs. I tried to ask our neighbors the same thing but when I knocked on their door (twice) they never came to the door. I went back inside and realized they were doing laundry and couldn't hear me. The owners advised us that they were building a new set of buildings that were going to be sound proof. We had the pleasure of late check out but could never sleep in due to the noise that started early - contemplated staying with our friends the second night but it was already late so checked out first thing.

This hotel has very old buildings (unfortunately where we were placed) and very new buildings. Our room was old, out dated, not very clean and the bed was lumpy. The staff was very nice, friendly & helpful. We didn't complain about the room to the hotel because we heard so many others complaining & getting no satisfaction. We just made the best of it. We were in a beautiful part of our country and spent most of our time enjoying that.

It was okay. It was very loud and busy at anytime of day or night. I wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be

It was just okay

Hotel stay was okay; I've stayed at better resorts. Had to pay extra to do anything on the resort like game room or indoor waterpark, which was not worth the money. Not sure I'd ever stay here again unless it was far less-free. Not worth my money.

Nice from the outside, but....

Cute hotel from outside.. Check-in you get bounced around from person to person. We were not aware that this was a time share property. Room had an awful stench that made our experience unpleasant. When we asked what it was, we were told that the maid just mopped..?.. The structures are paper thin. We heard EVERYTHING from the room upstairs all night. No sleep to be had at this "resort"! Also, you are to take off all linens from bed, gather garbage and put in kitchen, check out at 10am or they charge. They have a water park onsite-- no where on site does it say they charge $19 to use it daily, since it's open to the public. Soo many rules and regulations or you get charged..definitely not the place to go to relax and enjoy..

Not a good experience.

When we arrived checking took an hour, then our keys didn't work in our room and had to wait 30 minutes for security. The walls are paper thin in the rooms so we could hear the actual confersations of our neighbors and the footsteps of the people above us. The wifi did not work in our room so when I called they told me to go to the lodge because that wifi always works. I went to the lodge and neither of their connections were strong enough to load a webpage. The TV reception was horrible. They have a bar at the top of the mountain and an ice cream trailer near the bottom, neither of which accepted any form of Payment other then cash. They kept calling themselves an "elite" resort, but almost all the wait staff were unprofessional high school kids who couldn't care less. We went on the time share meeting because we got a bunch of free tickets. We were told it would take 1.5 hours and ended up taking over 3 hours. The sales people were extremely pushy and rude. My advice, choose another resort, plain and simple.

Was told by their IT provider that Westgate did not have enough Internet access fir all the people staying there,in order for me to gain access he would have to knock someone off or I would have to wait until there was an opening and this was 11pm. They reset router once maintenance broke into closet with screw driver. Then it advertises like the water park is part of your package, not so, only happens if you are an owner, otherwise you must pay separate, then they told me military got a 30% discount, then reigned on that.

Nice hotel, just light on the room amenities.

Toilet clogged, no coffee for coffee maker, no dish soap for dishes, just dishwasher soap, but only 2 regular spoons so had to rinse off for us all to eat breakfast. No info about procedures of hotel in room. They want you to call the desk. Sometimes you just want to look it up, like what to do at checkout and where to put your pool towels and trash, etc. overall, we had an ok time. The restaurant on site was TERRIBLE!!! Slow, incompetent service and not very good food. Staff seemed friendly, though didn't care for man who brought us extra towels- he yelled at us through the door after and I was just about to open it he yelled again in a very condescending, sarcastic manner about whether we really wanted the towels or not. Impressed by room at first glance and was happy to have the extra bedroom, but for the price we paid (we do NOT get discount for time agar time sucker), we expected more. We stayed at a Super 8 on our way out to the resort, and were more impressed by room amenities like free continental breakfast, and free coffee packets for the coffee maker. Maybe if we had called they would have brought some to us, but I shouldn't have to call for stuff like that. It was just kind of annoying and contributed to lower rating.
