Perfect location in Pigeon Forge

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Pros: Clean, Price, LOCATION
Cons: Shower faucet could be updated
Location: Perfect if you want to stay in Pigeon Forge and travel into Gatlinburg.
This is a great deal for the $! Located at the end of the run in Pigeon Forge, it allowed us EASY access to Gatlinburg, and all the conveniences of Pigeon Forge. Room was CLEAN, beds were GREAT, and price was perfect.

weekend getaway

Posted Feb 20, 2017
Cons: later checkout
Location: close to everything--JT Hannahs and Old Mill Restaurants are great.. buy one boot get two free place across from is best place for boots.
Hotel was overbooked but we were quickly upgraded to their resort 3 1/2 miles down the road . very nice everything went smoothly, hotel is nice staff etc and the breakfast was fabulous--one order of pancakes could feed four people. check out was 10am did not like that but otherwise I would stay again.

Decent hotel for cheap price

Posted Jan 23, 2017
The hotel is at the end of the parkway before you head into Gatlinburg, or at the beginning of the parkway coming from Gatlinburg. New beds were nice and comfortable. A little bit out of the way from the main Pigeon Forge attractions. My complaint was lukewarm water in the shower both days, so I probably won't stay here again due to no hot water. Otherwise, no complaints.

Not bad at all!!

Posted Jan 23, 2017
Plenty of parking, room was nice and beds where comfortable. Price was nice, had stayed before in a room on the back side and this time we faced the road and the room seemed nicer. Worth the money!

Information about room

Posted Nov 25, 2016 on Hotels
The location of the hotel was prefect. It's not a place I would prefer to stay again in the future but would if had too. The water pressure was poor while taking a shower. If someone in your room flushed the toilet while someone else was showering then it would make the water extremely hot in the shower. The beds were comfortable but literally needed a step stool in order to get on the bed. Not sure why the beds were so high.

Howdy Y'All

Posted Nov 22, 2016 on Hotels
Stay was good. This hotel is good for a one or two night stay when you just need a place to lay your head down. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for large families or families that are wanting a lot of entertainment value from the hotel. It is in a great loaation and it is very easy to get out of the hotel onto the main strip.

very old but clean enough. Our room was on the back and there were some rough people back there that were noisey ....I got the feeling that it was really just a one night hotel. Maybe should have known this when the front desk clerk had to unlock the office door for us at 5:00 pm...... Made sure our door was locked up tight as well as our car. The pancake breakfast was excellent though.

Convenient, clean, but old

Posted Nov 15, 2016 on Hotels
This is not the Ritz Carlton...or even Motel 6. It was very clean, but very old. It was pricey because of the area, not because of what you got. Served our purpose. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was nothing to speak of and they got me, because my pancakes were not free. I had 2 vouchers for 2 people and still managed to get a $17 check.

Older but updated A overlooked gem

Posted Nov 14, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel that we normally stay at was booked as well as most of the bigger hotels in Pigeon Forge for this weekend. Our search for availability led us to the Wild Bear Inn. We read the reviews and were reluctant to book here due to past similar experiences from other hotels. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The main office was clean and warm. There was a fire burning in the fireplace and warm fresh cookies on the counter. The hotel clerk was very friendly and helpful. They have no elevator or stairs, they have ramps to get to the upper floors. The room was clean and updated. It had a mini refrigerator and coffee maker but no microwave. The beds were comfortable. It was too cold to use but the pool was fenced in, clean and updated with life jackets and a handicap lift They have a great pancake breakfast house. They gave us coupons for a free pancake breakfast or $3 off another breakfast choice for each guest of the room. The sign advertises "The biggest pancakes in the Smokies"and they aren't lying. Locals and guest from other hotels come here to enjoy great food and friendly staff. There is a mini mart next to the hotel so you can get gas and snacks. The hotel is located at the last traffic light in Pigeon Forge and is easy to get in and out of. The hotel is old but it has been renovated and many newer amenities added. It is clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with our stay. We definitely are coming back to this overlooked gem.
