A reasonable airport hotel

Pros: Nice room, clean bathroom, quiet for an airport hotel.
Cons: Carpets in public areas need replacing
Location: It's an airport hotel, well located for what it is.
Tired and scruffy public areas, but the room was fine (once we got there, after a very long walk). Exec Lounge overcrowded, definitely below par. Long waits for lifts.

Hilton honours points should be given

Please add my Hilton honours points. My sister Tasneem Ramhendar l:270374221 We are gold Hilton honors members and should have gotten free breakfast and comp drinks but the staff said we were not privy to any of the benefits as we booked Through Expedia. That’s disappointing and unfair. We are platinum express card holders for Amex. This seems unreasonable.

Connected to Gatwick South Terminal but...

...It was unfortunate that we were abruptly woken up by the fire alarm shortly before 4 am. It was early January and my 7 year old son was forced to shiver in the open. And all we got was an apology notice at the hotel entrance.

Try to call in the hotel for late check-in. Phone was placed to a voicemail and got cut off couples of times. No operator, very frustrated.

Basic hotel, but convenient for airport

Hotel was approximately 5-7 minutes’ walk from Gatwick South Terminal. It could have been better signposted from within the airport and you do have to walk along the side of the carpark to access it, meaning we endured a brief blast of cold air. Check-in was efficient. We stayed in a standard double room, which was rather tired looking with but basic facilities but was clean. A kettle was provided with teas and coffees and there were Peter Thomas Roth toiletries in the bathroom. They only provided one pillow each which struck us as a bit miserly! Eating options at the hotel were definitely overpriced - central London prices without the quality. My partner and I tried to get a table at Amy’s - their fine dining restaurant. We waited more than 5 minutes with various staff members walking by us, and not one of them acknowledged us. The restaurant was less than half full so we eventually asked a waiter if we should seat ourselves. He rudely replied “wait!” and began talking to a colleague. Needless to say, we left and opted for room service instead. We visited the bar afterwards which was extremely busy and staffed only by two people, one of whom spent several minutes rearranging bottles of wine on the counter whilst people waited to be served. Service was abrupt, bordering on rude. We’ve stayed in a number of Hilton’s in the past and this one definitely needs to improve on its customer service!

Convenient location, a little noisy.

Cons: A little updating/facelift
If you are flying in or out of Gatwick, this is a VERY convenient option to stay for a late arrival or early departure. Literally connected to the South Terminal. HOWEVER, its a bit dated and the walls are pretty thin. My wife and I had an early departure so decided to stay here for convenience sake. And that it was, but we didn't get much sleep due to the room next door. We could hear their conversation (literally all night) and baby crying like they were in the same room. Surprisingly, the air traffic wasn't a noise problem. If you do stay here, make sure you have ear plugs just in case.

Convenient hotel at Gatwick
