Dirty, stinky and unsafe

Pros: close to Metro and and many shops, grocery store, pharmacy etc...
Cons: fix and clean. have someone all night at front desk
Room was tiny. Definitely not enough space for 2. No control for thermostat. It was unbearably hot. Smelled of cigarettes so bad my eyes were burning. Room and washroom not cleaned. Hair blocking sink drain. Cigarette burns on desk with tiny drawers. Smoke alarm has been removed and wires are hanging. no bat mat. pillow cases were dubious.Nobody at front desk at night. You get a door code on your receipt. On the front door, on the inside, a sign says that if you don't have a door code, go knock on door 6. I was in room 6 what the h...? People at front desk don't speak French.

This is a small hotel in the Gay Village in Montreal. I found it clean, if a bit worn, and safe. The rooms are very small - I played in a hockey tournament and would not have been able to fit myself and my gear into the room - but clean and the bed was comfortable. Apparently no fan or a/c in the room (besides the bathroom vent), but if the weather's good you'll be fine. Soap and towels in the bathroom, not sure how to ask for extra TP so bought some at the local convenience store. There's free wifi, and a supermarket, pharmacy & convenience store just down the block, and metro station. If you need a place to sleep, shower, and store your things, this will do just fine. If you need or want more amenities, try another hotel. I was very happy.

Cheap and conveniently located. Nothing special

Pros: Friendly and accommodating staff, convenient location
Cons: A total gut renovation
Location: Very conveniently located down the street from a main metro station, a park, bus depot and eateries
No frills, no thrills. Just a place to drop your things and go. The bed was hard, the toilet leaked and the water was hard. Wifi was barely functional. Room was small and had lots of wear and tear do to neglect and shoddy workmanship. If you're looking for a cheap place to stay for the weekend and don't care too much about comfort, this place fits the bill. The staff was friendly and accommodating but it wasn't enough to overcome it's shortcomings.

Great bang for your buck

A short notice booking for an inexpensive room for a staycation away from the roommates led us to this is perfectly located hotel in the heart of downtown. Small room but fair for the price, has a quaint cottage feel to it. Owner was attentive and personable. No parking which is a knock against it, but otherwise highly recommended and will book again for sure

Decent for the price on expidia. What I paid

Very small room and bathroom. TV didn't work. Dust all over the cable box. Cables were disconnected. Connected them nothing. Very difficult to find parking on the weekend. Very lucky to find a spot after driving around for 45 mins. Owner or clerk is a very nice man and tried to be accommodating.

Not at all as advertised

Not good experience, hotel didn't match reviews or online pics as advertised. Staff was nice but not very attentive or interested in cleaning or stocking bathroom with basic necessities.....

New owners, decreased quality?

This was my third stay at this hotel. The first two were excellent. This time around it was ok. They have different owners now. The location is excellent. The room was clean. I received an upgrade to a better room at the time of check-in. The gentleman at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful. However the internet was not up to par. It wasn't working properly, and when it did, it was very slow. Maybe it's because I was at the top floor. When I complained I was told that they were experiencing problems and that the service provider was coming the next day to fix it. I was only staying one night this time around and so cannot confirm that. There was no sheet under the bed spread, which I only noticed very late at night when I finally went to sleep. And there was a strange odor in the room, as if they had tried to mask cigarette smoke left behind by another guest. Because my first two experiences were very good, I might be willing to give them another chance.
