Loved the location, friendly staff!

Posted Aug 22, 2017
Pros: Location
Location: Metro, downtown, Old Port, grocery store, bars and clubs in the Village
This is a great place to stay and save money and still be in the middle of all the actions and excitement of the village. The room is small but comfortable. It has a good working air conditioner and private bathroom/shower. There is also a small fridge I was able to use for soda and a few snacks. There is a grocery store a couple blocks away. The breakfast is good coffee, muffins and/or toast which suited me fine. The staff is super nice and I really appreciated them going out of their way to make my stay comfortable. It was my second year in a row booking them and I will continue again next year. The location is key. It is near the bars and the Metro and not a far walk to Old Port and the sight seeing offered in Montreal if you don't want to use Metro and see the city. I felt very safe and the hotel gives you a key to the main building so you don't have to use a door bell every time you want to come back using an attendant. It is a basic hotel but it is what you get for the price, no gym or amenities but it's a comfortable bedroom to go back to after sight seeing.

Inexpensive

Posted Aug 19, 2017
The staff here was excellent -- some of the nicest people I've met anywhere. The hotel is just so terribly old. The carpets, box springs, and covers need to be replaced. It was clean, just so old it had stains. As I said, super-nice people, but I wouldn't stay here again even though it was super cheap.

Hidden Jewel of the Montreal village!!!

Posted Jul 13, 2017
Pros: Friendliness and convenience to all nightlife and tourist attractions.
Cons: do not disturb signs for the rooms would be nice, some shower bars to assist getting into and out of the shower would help.
Location: Visit old montreal, take a sightseeing buss tour from Amherst st or have a casual dinner at Lafayette restaurant or the sml restaurant on Wolf st.
You can walk to anything from this small friendly budget hotel. Steps to the metro, 30 min walk to old Montreal and 8 minutes walk to double decker bus tour. Chris and his staff go out of their way to assist ea and every guest with directions, cab service, and just friendly conversation. The stairs will keep you in shape. Not to say you are staying in the heart of the Montreal village hipster scene. Gordon

Convenient location

Posted Jul 11, 2017
Pros: Good location and parking available
Location: Right on Main Street which is closed to traffic in the summer so lots of great cafes and restaurants to walk to. In Gay Village area, but safe area.
Small pleasant hotel, very European feel. Convenient location, close to metro station and 30 minute walk to Old Montreal. Safe but very active area.

The rooms were dated and unsanitary. The staff were unprofessional and rude. I would strongly NOT staying at the Hotel St-Catherine.

Very old

Posted Jul 8, 2017
Pros: The area.
Cons: Too old to improve anything.
Location: Gay neighbourhood and art and crafts.
Interesting area. Supposedly non smoking but the hotel stunk of cigarettes. Paying cash for the room was a mix up as they had already charged my credit card for 3 nights before we had even got there. very old rundown building.

Dear On the web side we mark hotel in gay village. For charge on Credit card you can see in booking they mark hotel charge to guest but not mansion to guest pay in cash.If you call to hotel and mansion about to pay cash so we don't charge on your Credit card. Thanks Hotel Stecatherine

Great location!!!! The street is a festival most of the year. Food, crafts & more food, not far from historic places. Stairs a challenge for people with knee problems.

Location is great. You get what you pay for, and it was good for the price.
