Great hotel close to centre and transport links.Posted Sep 21, 2017
Super hotel. Rooms spotless and roomy, beds comfortable and quality bedding and towels. Staff friendly and helpful. Tea and coffee making facilities in rooms, room bar fully stocked, even an iron and ironing board provided. Breakfast has everything from continental to cooked breakfast and lots of tea and coffee. What's not to like - brilliant hotel.
A relaxing and uneventful stayPosted Aug 2, 2017 on Hotels
We booked at the Scandic at the very last minute, having had an appalling time with our stay elsewhere in Gdansk. It is a little out of the way if you want the Old Town, but is very convenient for trains, buses, trams, and taxis.. It is also well placed for the large Madison shopping centre, as well as other everyday normal shops difficult to find in the Old Town. Due to circumstances, we arrived well before check-in time. However, as we had a booking, there was no problem with them storing our luggage whilst we did other things. Once checked-in we found our room on the 3rd floor to be clean and presentable. As with most hotel chains, everything looks pretty much the same. The hallways to the rooms looked a little like the infinity effect of two mirrors. Being so close to the main train station, trams, and a busy road, there is inevitably traffic noise. However, living in Helsinki, it was nothing unusual for us. We had a comfortable stay, though PLEASE put some extra pillows in the rooms. The one pillow each side is so flat that it's barely worth being there. We had an evening meal which was pleasant, though the waiting staff were so far away it was difficult to attract their attention. Breakfast was comprehensive and filling. Except all variants of coffee, which were awful. Although our stay was uneventful and relaxing and had nothing bad, I would say it is borderline if we would stay again. There was just nothing that stuck out as special or outstanding, unfortunately.

Great Hotel in a very convenient hotelPosted Jun 15, 2017
Pros: convenient location, friendly staff
Location: cinema, shopping, train station, bus station, restaurants
Even though a frequent visitor to Gdansk - this was the first time I had the pleasure of staying at Scandic Hotel. It is a great value for money luxurious hotel that has a spa and restaurant in the premises. The hotel is across the street from the main train station and has a small shopping centre next to it as well as a cinema. The hotel is a 5 minute drive to old town and is also about 5 mins by car to the shopping centre Galleria Baltycka. The staff at the hotel was friendly, multi-lingual, and professional. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and sound proofed. Overall a great hotel that I would love to go back to.
