Having stayed in Geneva many times at more "modern" hotels located near Gare Cornavin, we chose this hotel for its location closer to the Old Town. We stayed over Easter when it was reasonably quiet. The location is not far from the Pont Mont Blanc and very near the old town and the main shopping street. I could imagine that during busy weeks, you could get a little noise from the road, however, this was not something that bothered us. With the Rue De Fontaine, the old town, the main shopping street and the harbour being only a minute's walk away, this was an ideal place to base our leisure weekend. The hotel and room decor was "quaint" maybe a little dated rather than modern and the room was not large, however, this added to the cosy, traditional feel. There was no bar although we had use of the neighbouring hotel's bar which allowed us to charge to our room anyway. Similarly there was not restaurant (a breakfast buffet was served however) and again if we had wished we could have used the neighbouring hotel's restaurant (we chose to eat out to explore more of the local cuisine). The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. On Easter Sunday we had breakfast in the room and we were both presented with a chocolate Easter hen which was a nice touch. If and when we go back, this will be at the top of our list of hotels to stay at.
