Hotel Mediterranée is an old classic hotel, that is in desperate need for some tender loving care. The hotel stands facing the sea, just like the name promises, and the view from our room was just glorious. The hotel has, however, seen its best days, and really needs a renovation to restore its former glory. We have, for example, never before stayed in a room where the wooden floor creaks so loudly that you cannot hear what the other person is saying in the room if either of you move around at the same time. It was a physical pleasure to sit down on the bed, or step out in the corridor because the loud creaking sound would at least stop then.
The beds were comfortable, the bathroom fine (but we did not get a bath tub in the room like the website had promised we would), it was instead a shower with a broken door mechanism (I had to lift out the doors, and re-attach them so that they would glide normally.
Breakfast was good, a pot of freshly made Americano was brought to our table, and the buffet had a good selection of sweet products, not so much savoury.
For anybody looking for a restaurant nearby, the local Trattoria Da Franco just some blocks away is a true highlight! Fresh seafood, and delicious pasta!
A final bonus was the free parking on the back yard, great with a fenced parking area where to leave the car safely overnight.
