Great trip to Houston

Pros: Location. Very easy to get on major highways to Houston and other cities.
Stayed for the first time at the DoubleTree at the Airport. Great hotel, will be back.

Location to the airport is the only benefit

Noisy soccer team taking over the lobby. No coffee available prior to 6am (flight left at 6 so checkout was at 5am). Staff was slow and in addition, asked for a $50 deposit which you have to swipe.

King size bed

Cons: The Staff..
I was located in Mexico and called for a rental of a room with a King size bed, I was charged and when I arrived I was placed in a room with 2 double beds. My wife was meeting me there in the room so I did not want to sleep in separate beds, I explained to the front desk staff and was informed there was nothing they could do about it. I asked for a refund, then I was informed because I booked the room with Expedia they could not refund me the money. So long story short I had to fight with Expedia and hotel until we resolved the issue. In the end Expedia will provide a refund of the room back to my credit card in 7 days and I have to leave the hotel because they over booked their King size bedrooms. All of this was resolved around 12:30 am. Bottom line is the Double Tree should not over sell their rooms but if they do, they should be able to work with the customer to try and resolve the issue and not just say "To Bad". I will never book at this hotel again because of their unfriendly staff.

Oversold and sent us toi another hotel

Cons: Actually receiving our rooms.
We went to check in and the hotel front desk staff told us that they were oversold and that we were being moved across the street to another hotel.

If you are flying in and out of Houston, you cannot do better. QUIET, very comfortable, great staff, efficient shuttle, close, did I say quiet? The pool was long enough for my wife to get a reasonable workout in, gym minimally useable but useable. They gave us a spacious room on the 7th floor with enough space to repack for our flight. If we’re ever flying through Houston again, we’ll stay here.

Nice clean hotel nearby the airport

Very comfy stay while travelling with a baby. Nice clean room and bathroom. Room service was on time. We had to take the shuttle to airport,the bell boy and shuttle driver were very polite and friendly. Driver helped me alot in getting a trolley at airport. Just the bar staff were pretty casual and not ptofessional. They can improve this and were very lazy whch was dissappointing. I would not recommnd to order food from the bar. Very dissappointing
