Our stay at Windsor was absolutely lovely. It's a 140 year old building so you should expect luxury. We would stay here over a new hotel any day though! The owner is super cool and chatted with us over breakfast. And by the way, the breakfast is much better (homemade) than most basic hotel breakfasts. The bathroom and shower room are both shared, but there are not too many guests so we didn't have a problem using them when we needed. We had to share a full bed which was the only downside, but some of the 140 year old rooms are tiny so that's all that could fit! For one night it's not a big deal. We would absolutely stay here again for all the character this B&B provides!

Cute historical hotel. I never met the host, but they were very polite on the phone and the complimentary breakfast food was delicious! Will stay there again if I get the chance.

Quaint hotel and rooms. Definitely showed it's age. Walls are thin so definitely made use of the fan to drown out the noisy neighbor. Odd setup for the bathroom but kind of expected for this old of a hotel. Nice, quiet lil town.

If you want authentic mining town atmosphere with a true mining town hotel? This is the place to stay at. It's a back to the future setting. My wife and I loved the place. It was great to be part of the not so run-of-the-mill hotel.

Reminiscent of my Grandparents home. I ♥️ the uniqueness. The hotel has a serious tilt, things shake and the floor boards squeak when you walk, but it’s very cool! And, the host has made it very homey. I do wish someone had been there to explain the characteristics of the hotel. I haven’t seen or heard anyone, maybe they’ll appear as ghosts tonight 😂

One, the front door code hasn't been changed in a long time per others. Two, no locks on thin paned windows. Three, room door could be broken into easily. Three, no screens on windows. Four, The floors are terribly uneven and sqeaky. Five, No air conditioning. Six, I could here everything. Seven, there's no tv. I could go on. I was here to hike Grays and Torreys the next morning, but got about an hour of sleep. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Loved everything about this historic hotel. It’s not your typical hotel experience but as long as you expect that it’s a cool place to stay. Lots of cool old houses if you walk around town. I would book direct if you want to stay here - apparently there is an extra fee for Expedia bookings that I did not realize was not already included in the price’s fees until after my booking was complete. Overall paid $20 extra a night after multiple fees from this and normal taxes etc which made what a thought was a great deal more in line with the average prices of other nearby chain hotels.

If you’re looking for a posh, 5-star hotel, this is not that. It’s old and quirky. Everything is creaky and out of square. You park at the pot dispensary next door. You share a hallway bathroom with 6-7 other rooms. There’s no check-in counter. There are no restaurants in town (have to drive to Georgetown) But if none of these are show-stoppers for you, the Windsor is pretty cool. Every question I had was answered almost instantly via text. There were fresh breakfast burritos and coffee awaiting every morning. The rooms were clean and functional. The bathroom was clean and well stocked with what you might need. The owner was friendly and helpful, the couple times we crossed paths. There were extra blankets, slippers, and other amenities available for you to use during your stay. The town is super cute, and there’s a cool trail up into the hills overlooking the town a couple blocks from the hotel. A couple friendly neighborhood dogs would greet me when a came and left. It’s not for everyone, but if it’s for you, I imagine you’ll love it.

Had to find another place stay - wife did not feel safe as the padlock didn’t line up with the door sill and there were cracks in the wall, ceiling. There is a difference between “historic” and “I feel like I’m going to be murdered, this is so dilapidated”

Its not renovated to your modern dreams desires. its not dilapidated by any means! Thanks for the review!! Made me chuckle over my morning coffee!! Im gonna guess the ghosts didn’t like your energy :) Thank you for your stay :) Homemade food, charming environment, friendly guests, hostel vibes. Working locks, easy parking, easy checkin and checkout. Experience stay. 10 miles to loveland. 23 miles to keystone. Pets welcome, leashed humans appreciated jk! LoL

Thank you for making our Saturday morning turnover simple! I felt like you were rich millionaires who could afford to buy as many hotel rooms as you desired being you paid and didnt stay :) so I didnt think it was terrible! Bless your hearts! Happy ski season. Family run business. 4 boys, single mom. A Microtell just popped up in Georgetown, I heard its so windy by the lake that windshields get broken regularly!! that would be TERRIBLE!! Crappy chain businesses will soon follow to ruin our small town :( Grateful for small businesses that are still the majority and thriving in our mountain community. 11” last Wednesday!! Omg can you imagine the amount of people on the highway!! Oh.. please check the tread on your rental vehicles.. ive seen and heard stories. Be safe yall!!

Quaint, but NOT quiet
While the hotel does have a certain charm, that charm ended at 2am on the first night of our stay. When the third floor denizens returned home at a late hour, we could hear every step they took, every word they uttered, and every squeak of the floorboards. It kept us up for over an an hour that night, and then again at 10pm on Sunday. Ultimately, a hotel is a place to sleep, and we had to buy ear plugs to try to get rest, though even that did not work. Otherwise, the amenities were fine, though one toilet for 6 rooms is a bit of a stretch. The coffee and breakfast was quite good though. Lastly, our room was not clean. We found a piece of plastic in the shag rug that must have been from a prior occupant, but when we lifted the bedskirt to look for a sock when leaving, I was horrified at what I could see underneath.

Im uncertain about the shag rug? No rooms have rugs. Ill check in with my very helpful cleaner, her eyes are 60 years old, shes been such a blessing giving me a break from a heavy work load. Its disclosed it may be noisy depending upon the guests. Late arrival’s do take place. Especially with the weather conditions in the winter months. Using a fan as white noise helps. Glad you enjoyed breakfast. Thank you for staying.

The Historic Windsor was a little more historic than I was expecting, but it was a fun adventure. It is an old building and as such has lots of creaky stairs and floors with a bit of settling. It reminded me of my grandparents' house in many ways, which was from the same era. The bathroom facilities were shared, with a water closet (toilet) in one room and the sink and tub/shower in an adjacent room. They did have hand sanitizer available, but washing hands could be delayed if someone is taking a shower. The rooms are small by today's standard, but were what you would expect from the time when the hotel was built. If you are looking for someplace that has an historic feel to it, The Historic Windsor certainly delivered. It was fun meeting other travelers, too. There was a common area and front porch and balcony, so if you like meeting new people it also was great for that. You do hear the floors creaking as others move about, but it wasn't too loud. We stayed in the Fall and the room was warm. It has a baseboard heater with individual controls for the room, though I suspect there is not a lot of insulation so not sure if it would be terribly warm in the coldest part of winter, but it was more than sufficient for us when it got down to freezing at night. Overall it was a fun stay.

Fresh homemade banana muffins with pecans or plain, were served this morning. Orange slice sugar cookies also homemade. Oven baked GF quiches potato, egg, cheese bacon or not we’re also available this morning. A hot pot of coffee, with several creamer choices, or a selection of K cups to choose from. 4 varieties of teas available. Hard boiled eggs and homemade breakfast burritos in the refrigerator. Many regulars, and even more direct bookings in a fully booked hotel. Charming like grandma’s house. A piece of goodness, simple and lost in time.

The town of Silver Plume sits at 9,120ft elevation. It was once a bustling mining town. Today. It’s like time stopped, everything is OLD, the grass is over grown, there are ladders leaning against houses, and even a fence made of skis. The road is even still dirt. The town website used to rave about the pact of household dogs roaming the town, but has since dwindled down to a few old timers pups just lounging in the middle of the road soaking up the warm sun. We have a mere 5 whole businesses in town. And a population sound 180. Food other then what I graciously provide here at the 140 year old hotel, is located in Historic Georgetown. Just 2 miles east. Oh and the bears are unleashed in front of the house too, and they dump the trash can, so clear out your vehicles in spring and fall;) Welcome to SILVER PLUME. A step back in time that is still adored and untouched by the modern man. Expedia reviews are never as good as Airbnb… such a shame.Book direct. Call for QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS, to avoid the let down of said expectations.

Hmm. Sorry you missed the breakfast room. It’s available 24/7 for ease of connivence and hot breakfast by 7:30 on the weekends to accommodate for a full house. In the confirmation details it states 18.5% is added to the total for fees. So not double the total. Sorry you missed out. The breakfast was really yummy. book direct to save these fees, and feel free to reach out for questions so you are happy with your stay. Take care.

Despite the hotel being old (with old building issues), it was very clean. It has a certain charm that is hard to describe. The town is very quiet during the week. The food provided at breakfast was very good. Quiches and breakfast burritos. Filtered water, coffee and tea were always available. The interesting part was that in the whole hotel, there was one bathroom and one shower for people to share. Wasn’t really an issue during my stay, however, it could be if there were more people. Limited to no dining options in silver plume. Easy check in and check out. The rooms have multiple locks that work. Don’t let the stairs deter you from staying a night or two.

Your so cute Quinn Richard! You erased your first review! Yes there are Additional fees to stay at any hotel. I’ve clearly disclosed them as obviously as I could in accordance with the 3rd party. You know the crappiest part? You didn’t pay, or stay but still were allowed to leave a review. I’d say that’s SHADY AF. Not really my vibe. Good luck with that. And yes I was able to fill my room after your run around circus act you delivered to my door step. 528HZ phew. Dear lord help these souls get a clue! Take care on your journey in life.
