Good hotel for the Black Hawk area

Posted Jul 23, 2016
Pros: The casino and buffet.
Cons: Better pillows and more of them.
They allowed us to have our dog in the room, but they only have two dog available rooms on the whole property. They were very accommodating.

Decent hotel, steakhouse was great!

Posted May 10, 2016
The person who checked us in was not friendly but the one who checked us out was very nice. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. The steakhouse was wonderful, very friendly staff and excellent food! The breakfast buffet was worth the $10 but not much more. I also tried calling to get a better price on the room but they wanted to charge me $50 more than Expedia. That made me feel like they wanted me to pay more just because I don't gamble there very often...kind of irritating. They didn't seem like they cared if we stayed there at all.

BORING!!!

Posted May 1, 2016
Pros: the parking was good
Cons: Just about everything.
Location: The free shuttle is very nice.
I love to gamble and have never been so bored in my life. They have to many of the same machines and way to many Asian ones. The pay off was none. I gambled three different days and the largest win I had was 3.00 out of over $500.00! The buffet was bland. They did have crab but more work than rewarding. Breakfast lacked any choices, The room was fair. At least they got rid if the horrible lime green and yellow colors. The hotel was ok.

Poor Review

Posted Apr 26, 2016 on Hotels
We were frustrated. We got there at 3:15pm, our room was not ready and wouldn't be ready until 5pm. We went with another couple. Each couple spent $200 plus per night. Truly did not feel the experience was worth the price. We were stuck in the Elevator and rang the buzzer, but no one came. The Elevator finally opened on its own and we were then let out. I reported this to the front desk, but they were not real concerned, said they will call someone..... Also, neither fan, heat or cool would work. When I contacted the front desk, they said it is that time of year and it is regulated. I reiterated that it was not working at all. They said they would have maintenance come check it out. Make sure not the have the do not disturb on the door. No one ever came. The next morning, Housekeeping knocked on the door around 7:30 am. My Husband answered the door, they asked about us checking out. He said we were not ready. 9am, I was in the Shower and the water shut off completely for about a minute, then came back on. During my 10 minute shower, someone kept knocking on the door 2 separate times. The 2nd time, someone opened the door. I was not happy. They couldn't get us checked in on time, but was darn sure to get us out. We were frustrated. We went with another couple. Each spent $200 plus per night. Truly did not feel the experience was worth the price. Not sure we'll stay there again.

Needs Work!

Posted Apr 26, 2016 on Hotels
I must admit, I was pretty disappointed in what I got for the amount that I paid. The valet was either short handed or extremely slow on a Saturday night. I had to wait in my car for 10 minutes before anyone from Valet even came out. The receptionist that checked me in was in a bad mood and wore it on her sleeve. The room was old and dingy. The shower was yellow and made me feel I would get dirtier stepping in rather than cleaner. I was just really disappointed that a $200 a night room would be such a bad experience. I would expect that kind of service and room for $49 - $89 per night, but when you charge $200 for a room at least make it a good experience.
