We loved our stay at the 1863 Inn. Walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. Hot buffet breakfast included. Friendly, helpful staff. We would definitely recommend staying here.

We booked ahead and arrived late. No problems checking in! Getting up to the second floor was aa chilly endeavor, but we made it. Would definitely stay there again.

It's in the heart of everything. Perfect to walk all around. The breakfast was great and little changes every morning. The staff was fantastic, all shifts. Housekeeping was very nice.

Rooms are very clean and the property is very close to the center of town. Only thing I didn't like is the bed sheets are really thin, I like thick blankets so was a little tougher sleeping with only a thin sheet covering me.

We provide 2 extra blankets in the closet in each room. The front desk would have been happy to provide you with extra blankets as well.

The room looks clean. Plenty of fluffy towels and the shower water pressure is strong. While the bed is comfortable enough the sheets and coverlet could be upgraded as they are thin. I checked under the fitted sheet as I always do at hotels and I saw a couple strands of possibly dog hair. I like animals but I do not want their hair. The breakfast is average but sufficient however the coffee is a little weak. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. It was raining during our stay and the traffic was very loud as our room faced the front. Ask for rear facing room if you want more quiet. All in all it was a decent stay and good value.

In checking our records we found that the room you were assigned to has not had a pet in it since January. Each pet room is thoroughly cleaned after they check out. It is very strange that you would have found any pet hair in the bed. That room has been rented several times since January. As for our FREE breakfast, we have a huge selection and as you can see from past reviews folks love it. We grind our own coffee beans. We realize that we can't please everyone. And for future reference, there are several restaurants within walking distance to the hotel if by chance you can't find anything to your liking on our FREE breakfast offering.

Although it was an older building the rooms and building was clean. It had homey old fashion hotel amenities and decor. I loved the black colored make-up removal wash cloth. The dining area for breakfast was lovely and so was the food. Variety of food and good coffee. Plenty of parking and the staff was very nice. I like the bathroom set up. The toilet is away from sink. In the lobby coffee is offered all day and although the room only had a fridge and coffee maker, there is a microwave in the lobby for everyone. It was really nice! The only thing is that it is in a loud main street, but for a Spring night it was great!

About half a mile south of the center of Gettysburg with very easy access to town and to the National Park. Many shops & restaurants within walking distance, like right across the street. Five floors with easy access by two elevators makes for easy access. Parking lot is sloped so loading & unloading the car is awkward because the luggage cart kept rolling away. The view from the 5th floor overlooks Gettysburg with great sunsets to the west with the mountains on the horizon. On Sunday morning, 4 Amish horse & buggies came into town passing the 1863 INN.

Very clean and comfortable accommodations. My room was spacious and quiet. The full breakfast buffet was quite varied and routinely refreshed. Very good coffee! The property was well maintained and showed the care of its owners and staff. Great location within walking distance to the battlefield, shops, pubs and restaurants.
