Trip to Gettysburg over Thanksgiving break!

Posted Dec 1, 2016
Cons: The hotel is an older hotel and it is so big that of course it can use some updating, but we were pleased with our room.
Location: Lot's of things to do nearby.
The staff was beyond friendly and helpful!! The breakfast and dinner that was included with the price of the room was very much appreciated. The dinners were very good and we were very pleased and surprised with the meals that were provided. The pool area was beautiful and we really enjoyed the ability to walk out of our door and have the pool area right there. We enjoyed the hotel so much that we ended up staying another night.

Nice location to the Battlefield

Posted Nov 21, 2016
Pros: Location, staff and food
Cons: Room remodeling/updating
The hotel is in nice proximity to the Battlefield and allows a nice distance between the crowded town with easy access to the sights. The hotel staff was nothing but friendly and accommodating; I have no complaints about them. Additionally the free breakfast was perfect: eggs, sausage, potatoes and french toast. The free dinner was just as good: lasagna, salad and bread. Our room overlooked the swimming pool and was very old and dingy likely due to the old age. The ceiling tile above the shower was near caving in due to a water leek. The tile continued to drip and swell so we avoided showering in there and used a friends shower instead. There were stains in the bathtubs, walls and sinks. The swimming pool area would be great in the summer however the space in general is very cold this time of year regardless of the pool being heated.

Hi Jackie, thank you for staying with us. My apologies for the bathroom issues. A call to our front desk would have remedied that situation. Thank you for noticing how hard our staff works and the great quality of our free breakfast and dinner. Free dinner is different every night, but always very good. I hope you enjoyed your time in Gettysburg. We appreciate your business.

hotel staff very considerate & understanding.

We had a serious problem at home & had to leave ahead of time. The manager let us leave without charging us for the for that night. Definitely will stay there again as we enjoy Gettysburg very much. It's nice dealing with an honest organization who put people first !

Knock it down and start over

Posted Nov 15, 2016
We arrived to lobby with our belongings to be greeted with a sign indicating that we needed to check in at the facility next door. We trudged over there and seemed to be bothering the staff instead of being checked in pleasantly. We trudged back to the Eisenhower -- the room was disgusting -- mold in the toilet, large pieces of cracker/cracker crumbs on the floor, hole in wall in bathroom...We called desk and they said they would look into a different room and would call us back. They called back and we were moved to a room at the "new" next door hotel. So we gathered our stuff and headed back there. Again, no real interest shown from the desk staff upon our arrival. This second room was better, but still not at the level of cleanliness we would expect at a hotel in this price range. I'm not sure they know what vacuums are and the towels were stained. And if this is the "new" hotel, it would be hard to tell -- extremely dated and shabby. The breakfast the next day was fine, though we did have to go back to the Eisenhower to find the breakfast room. We will not be returning to either of these properties.

Hi Ruth, thank you for staying with us. I'm glad you enjoyed your time with us and in Gettysburg. I have passed your comments on to our Chef so he can see what was up with our eggs. I wouldn't have liked that either. We appreciate your business.

Hotel is okay for one night!

Posted Nov 4, 2016
Location: The grounds are pretty and close to everything you may want visit at Gettysburg.
The hotel definitely needs updating or restoring. Service was great (reception desk, maintenance people and restaurant host). The free dinner was horrible, except for the Caesar salad.

Hi Claire, thank you for staying with us. We are close to everything but still in such a quiet area. As you saw by the signs and the obvious work being done, the hotel is going through a renovation. I'm sorry you felt the dinner was horrible, if that were the case, it was not brought to our attention. As you noticed, our staff works very hard to give our guests great value and we would have happily corrected your dinner issues. I hope you enjoyed your time in Gettysburg, there is so much to see. We appreciate your business.

The location is excellent

Posted Nov 1, 2016
Pros: The location
Cons: Upgrades are currently being made at the property
The location was only 4 miles from the battlefield. Their is plenty to do, The weekend that we visited was Halloween. They had a lot of festivities at the hotel. And beside the hotel their was a huge convention center expo that was holding a civil war memorabilia and gun show. The staff was pleasant and was willing to meet your request. Food was prepared for breakfast and dinner and was very good. The lounge allowed you to sit and have a drink while watching sports on multiple screens.
