Acceptable low end hotelPosted Nov 14, 2017
Cons: wifi, soap.
Location: near SMRT
Hotels are expensive in Singapore and this is an adequate low end hotel. It should have had better wifi. it was too slow, and it is no excuse that other people are also using it. there were no hand towels and no soap for the sink. the staff were very good and helpful. the rooms were big but spartan.

Affordable and close to public transport and shopsPosted Oct 31, 2017
Pros: Close to public transport, Shops and eateries nearby.
Cons: Building condition, flooring.
Location: Near to Metro. So many places to eat.Grocery and al other stuff available if required at shops and supermarkets nearby.A shopping mall in 10 to 15 mins
Stay at Hotel 81 Tristar was pleasing, affordable. This place is close to public transport and shops, has a 24 hrs food court in the same building (With Indian and other Asian food available). Also has shops very close and a supermarket with all the stuff anyone would need. We used public transport for most of our travel and was very cheap and easy. Room was spacious enough, has A/C which is a must while staying in Singapore. Room was clean and had a bar fridge, kettle, toiletries,a good sizes bed, chairs and tables and a TV. There are a few International power sockets which I used for my Australian made chargers. Staff are friendly, speaks English and will help happily. In general the hotel building is a bit old but is budget friendly and has enough facilities to make your stay great. Its not a luxurious place but you get for what you pay. We had to check out early and was able to keep our luggage securely in a locked room at no extra cost. Only one problem was the smell from the bathroom after having a shower from the drainage port.
