Fire alarm

Hi. Had a great stay apart from the fire alarm going off in the night. I was on the third floor and used the stairs to get out of the hotel. Just some feedback would be that on the stairs it’s not clear to exit on level 1 to leave the hotel and a lot of people carried on the the lower ground floor. If it was a fire could of caused a dangerous tone delay in leaving the hotel.

HANDY FOR GENT EXPO

Pros: Breakfast, location
Cons: Sort out the heating and get better sign posts put up.
Location: Perfect for Gent expo.
Stayed here for one night ready to visit the Gent Militaria show. The room was freezing cold. Adjusting the heater controls helped a bit but it never did get really warm. My friend had the room next door and had exactly the same problems . It’s a difficult hotel to get to as you have to drive around ‘the loop’ , it’s poorly signposted so it’s easy to drive around in a circle two or three times before you actually spot the turn off for the carpark. Shame really as the hotel itself is very nice. The breakfast buffet had all you could wish for and the gentleman on reception was very friendly and accomadating.

Great place to stay

Great staff,good sized room,clean tidy hotel with a superb breakfast and a lovely evening meal,only slight whinge is the pillows seemed a bit small.also thought I had made a schoolboy error by booking hotel so far from the centre of Ghent but it was so easy with the tram station nearby that takes you into the heart of the city in 15 minutes

Comfortable stay

Welcoming reception staff. Good sized room. Effective aircon. Comfortable bed. Great breakfast both variety and quality. Plenty of parking at modest cost. The hotel bedrooms are showing there age a little. Creme colour schemes, dark wood finishes and muted lighting reinforce this but it was not an issue for us. Our room was clean and well equipped. Public areas were bright and comfortable. Will have no hesitation staying again. The local area is still under development but this is easily outweighed by the convenience for the freeway and local tram for trips into town

Perfect stopover

Great hotel to break your journey when driving to Amsterdam. Free parking and very good breakfast. Ghent is a lovely city and the hotel is close to a tram stop allowing easy and low cost access. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated next to the Gent Expo so when there's no exhibition the rates are very good for the casual tourist.

Tour of Flanders 2017

Ideal for Ghent and Oudenaard (Tour of Flanders) and have stayed here in the past for the same event. Generally very pleased, they have friendly and helpful staff, rooms are what you would expect for a Holiday Inn, only criticism was they forgot to leave bath towels when changed other than that it was perfectly OK

Pros: its near venue i was attending an event and so only nearby option unless use tram into venue
Cons: food gone downhill at both dinner and breakfast. Steak weren't steak but chunks of meat, often at buffet had to wait for ages as refilled trays. Too pricey in general
Location: catch a tram too central gent.
