The front-desk staff staff were very helpful. I had a suitcase delivered prior to my arrival and a rental bicycle picked up after I arrived. They provided a box, scissors, and tape that I needed to properly prepare the bike and accessories for handoff. I was disappointed in the restaurant menu. I am vegan and there was not a single vegan or vegetarian option. Most cities of size offer several options, but in general and in most restaurants, the cuisine is intensely animal based. When salads are offered, they are usually an entree, contain meat or fish, and are expensive.

Decent hotel
We had a larger room and bathroom. The location is a bit further from the beach and entertainment areas and the parking lot is very tight! I would not want to drive an SUV. Air conditioning did not work that well. We had a semi-view of the road and you can hear the cars go by.

Good time in Gijon
We love Northern Spain and had a great time in Gijon. This hotel is modern and comfortable. The room was very large with a bed that was more than acceptable to my demanding wife. It is in an area convenient to the beach and restaurants with a large park and aviary just across the street. There was air conditioning, which was well appreciated, but it did leak water and after 3 efforts to fix it we finally had to change rooms. And even when functional, the AC was a little insufficient. The service was first rate and the front desk personnel spoke English (with varying skill) and were always helpful and friendly. We parked at the hotel a couple of nights ($15 was a bit steep), but if you have a little time to look there is street parking available right in the area.We were so pleased with this hotel that we stayed here a second time after a side trip of a couple of days.

Terribly disappointing
I’m sad to share a negative experience with my lodging at Tryp Gijón Pelayo, the air conditioning system very poor in their rooms. The electricity was out for a period of time. I would not recommend to visit during the summer.

Conveniently located for a business trip
Easy to find and well located slightly outside the city centre. The staff were very helpful and patient with our lack of Spanish. There is a bar but it is small and totally lacking in atmosphere unless you like loud football on a TV screen. There is very limited food on offer in the evening better to go out for supper but as it was pouring down with rain we were rather stuck. The breakfast is copious.

Meets expectations, nothing exceptional.
The hotel was good, a bit on the pricier side. If you're lucky you can find free parking in front of of it. The fitness center was a bit of a joke, but that is a common thing in many hotels. A well mantained chain hotel.

Nice hotel for the money
Nice enough hotel, not too far from main town. Plenty of local cafes and a park opposite. A bit noisy in the mornings if you want a lie in! Overall very good stay. Nice comfortable bed.

Good easy access to the beaches and the port (although the beach is LONG.) Underground parking with height restriction only, but some free parking as available at the other end of the park, on the street, with no height restriction.

Sat at bar and waited forcthe restaurant to open for dinner...bartender knew we were waiting and never told us the restaurant was closed! Staff in lobby had no suggestions for dinner locations. It was 8:30 and could not find any dinners being served anywhere. Ended up going to grocery store and picking up snacks.

Good location, nice neighborhood
We've been staying here for the last 15 years for two weeks a time during June-July. Very nice location in a mid-upper class residential neighborhood with a beautiful park just across the street (you can even hear the peacocks calling each other). Parking a little expensive €14.16/night but it includes taxes. Overall the hotel is nice but the rooms are starting to need a makeover. Bathroom is very comfortable and large by European standards but they should do away with the bathtub.

Hotel located 5 mins walk from beach and town centre and opposite a beautiful park. Lovely hotel, very clean, as is the whole of Gijon. Beautiful town, friendly people and nice beach. Would go back.

I expect a 4 stars hotel to be almost like a 5 star.This was actually closer to a three star.There was no air conditioning in the room,that is why we stayed only one night.In the afternoon it got very warm and it was not confortable,I have to say that the hotel staff was very polite and nice though.The location is not so good,is at the newer end of the bay and it dosen`t have views to the sea.The nicer part is at the other end.You had to pay for wifi and for parking,I would hope this would be inculded in a 4 star hotel.

The hotel is a modern 4 star hotel and therefore could have been anywhere in the world. It is a little out of town and therefore walking to the old town is a little too far but there are buses and taxi's. The immediate area has a few restaurants and we had breakfast in a cafe round the corner which was very good. A must is going to a Sidera - cider house as it's a great experience - there are some nice ones in the old town.

Actually nothing special for frequent travellers. Member of big chain, this hotel has not too much special but very good condition, nice service, pretty good breakfast. Specially, I would stress the location. It is next to Arena for Bull Fighting for those who like it :). Unfortunately we missed bull fighting but jazz festival for those who like it :) Exit from hotel bring you to nice garden with birds yard. You can see different exotic birds walking freely next to you. Through the garden in 5 minutes you are on the very nice beach and promenade about 4-5 km long - nice place for long and pleasure walking.

A very well located hotel across from a nice park and five minutes walk from the beach. Good restaurants and siderias close by. Friendly staff and a very good buffett breakfast. No hestiation in recommending.
