A beautiful place to stay

Posted Jul 29, 2016 on Hotels
Just a one night stay after a long rail journey and this hotel is very close to the railway station and also to the beach. Staff were happy to give me a late checkout. Lots of nearby restaurants and shops but have google translator handy as there is very little English spoken here.

I was here was short stay for overnight sleep, and rooms were nice, but not big size, ok for single person, good that I took a double room for single use. bathroom was decent size. good breakfast. near to train and bus station, and to the beach as well.

A Holiday as Silky as Hotel Silky

Posted Oct 7, 2015 on Hotels
It's hard to miss Hotel Silken Ciudad Gijon. It's a huge, tall and modern structure in a quiet neighborhood. I was assigned to a room good for two guests and I'm very thankful to the front desk lady staffer as there was more than enough moving space like the bathroom that is well lit, complete with washing/bathing amenities plus a bed with clean sheets and soft pillows. Every morning, there's a fabulous buffet breakfast one himself can help to. The coffee is well brewed, the baguettes are freshly baked, various fruit juices are chilled and sweet even the scrambled eggs are tasty so are the crisp bacon and sausages. Gijon is easily navigable but just don't miss the hilly Cimavilla, a very historic district that over looks Playa San Lorenzo. Likewise, there are many cafes to unwind in, taste Gijon's famous local pastries and do some shopping along Calle Corrida. And at the end of the day, there's the Hotel Silken to go back to, it's like a home away from home.
