Comfortable and convenient with great breakfast.

Posted Oct 10, 2017
Pros: Great breakfast. Comfortable room. Away from the centre but easy walk in to town.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: On edge of town about 15 minutes walk from railway station. Easy to access central Girona. Right next door to El Corte Ingles department store.
We visited for a long weekend in Girona. Hotel Melia was a really good choice. Very pleasant hotel and staff with a really good breakfast to set you up for a day in the city. Hotel staff were very helpful and room very comfortable with tea and coffee making facility. Impressed and would recommend for short trip to Girona.

Pleasant hotel

Posted Sep 9, 2017
Pros: It was in a quiet location with pleasant staff and within easy reach of the city centre.
Cons: Standard room we had was a little tired looking - could do with a lick of paint.
Location: Within easy access of city centre with bus stop immediately adjacent to the hotel. Major department store on same block.
We had a midweek break in Girona and were at the Melia Hotel for four nights. It was a quiet and enjoyable stay, with the hotel within easy reach of the city centre by public transport. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and found the pleasant meal good value for the money.

Nice hotel handy for train station

Posted Aug 23, 2017
Pros: Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, buffet style with both hot and cold, nice mix of shampoo etc in bathroom, wifi ok
Cons: we never ate at the hotel, due to its opening hours, you also cannot get a drink until 7.30pm.
Location: location great for trains and airport, gerona is really nice especially the square and the old town
Close enough to walk to the station and less than 40 minutes by train to barcelona, also not far from airport about 20 minutes in taxi, also a nice walk into the heart of gerona, large shopping centre next to the hotel

Cons: The web ste for this hotel says it has a 24hr airport shuttle service This is not so, they have never had a shuttle, got taxi £50 both ways
Location: Old town 20mins
20mins walk to old town or L2 bus, 40mins from Barcelona on HST ..40mins to Perpingnon HST or 1hr on bus to various good beaches, Would stay again

Melia Girona

Posted Oct 15, 2016
Pros: Staff. Breakfast. Our room
Cons: Distance into City
Location: Girona is well worth visiting, we were also within easy distance of the coast ,Barcelona and much of Costa Brava
Excellent hotel, efficient staff were always available, room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. Only drawback is that it's quite a trek into the City centre and rail/bus station
