Not a bad hotel

This hotel has a lot of potential. Very nice hotel and the staff is very accommodating. Breakfast options are good. However, the hotel is located in the middle of ghetto in Cairo. Its not dangerous or anything, but the overall population in this area are the lower class. I would recommend staying on this hotel for one or two days if you are trying to see the Giza pyramids since they are very close. Other than that, after a few days got to another hotel.

It was our first time in Egypt, very friendly staff ... Safe location, so close to the piramides

Comfortable!

The staff were perfect!! Sweet and helpful in every way!! Loved the pool, bar and wonderful breakfast every morning. The only thing I didn’t like was the opening time for gym. 10am.. would love it if it was earlier.. The staff made me feel so confortable!

Good hotel amenities.

Good hotel to stay. Very close to the Giza Pyramids. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Would use again.

Horrible experience

I have booked through Orbitz.com and stayed at the Mercure Le Sphinx, Cairo from August 31, to September 4. My room was not cleaned, bedsheets were not changed, and the room was not made up except for one time on my check out day and after making several complaints to the hotel management. Following the first night, I have made a complaint to the hotel reception that the room was not cleaned although room services did enter the room to only change the bathroom towels, shampoo bottles, and paper napkins. The room was not cleaned after the second night either, despite the complaint I have made the night before. Henceforth, I have made a second complaint and called the reception again and was requested to call room services the following day to inform them with the time at which I was leaving such that someone would be sent. Al though I did not think I need to remind room services , nor its my job to speak to someone about having my room cleaned prior to leaving the hotel especially that 2 complaints were made and Mercure management was informed with the issue; I did pass by the reception though at the afternoon of my last night requesting room services to make up the room. To my surprise, I returned back to find that the room was not cleaned despite all the complaints, the reminder, and my conversation with the hotel management. Employees and hotel security were smoking in the lobby

Un polite staff, and dirty room

The hotel seems to had better day, good layout. However, the staff are just not good at handling clients. Also, rooms could do better with some cleaning .

Close to the Pyramids

Pros: The lobby area was nice to sit in and relax in.
Staff was very accommodating, Breakfast was wonderful large selection of food, Rooms were very nice and comfortable.

Close to pyramids

Pros: Nothing, ate elsewhere
Cons: Everything
Location: Giza pyramids and Sphinx, once that,s done nothing left to, Need to go to Cairo, Luxor or alexandria
Room with no view, external dilapidated, food terrible, aged, staff pleasant, but always refer to someone else, nothing resolved

Great staff. Safe place very close to the pyramid

Other than cigarette smoke, this is an amazing hotel. Arrange tours and transportation before you arrive to avoid scams.
