Good city centre hotel

Posted Sep 18, 2017
Excellent city centre location. Fine old hotel with many period features. Very welcoming reception, easy to book in. We had a large room (212) with spacious bathroom. All basic but clean. Bed was a bit hard though. The room was on the Argyle Street side, although only single glazing the traffic/pedestrian noise wasn't obtrusive. Excellent hot buffet breakfast, mountains of hot food. Coffee machines with the usual 'tinny/metallic' taste. There were sachets available though. Staff were excellent, attentive and ensured breakfast was a relaxed pleasure. Well worth the money, very good value. Worth a stay at this central location.

Perfect for a no-fuss stay near Glasgow Central. Wonderful to have such a wide variety of food available at breakfast. Would stay here again. Nice friendly feel.

Convenient

Pros: Convenient location
Very convenient for railway station. Friendly staff, decent hotel. Only complaint was the creaky floors so if there is someone in the room directly above it can be a bit noisy.

Staff rude at check in,waited 5 mins at the bar with no one serving, could not sleep due wafer thin walls and single pain windows very noisy all night, rooms need renovating, only good thing was close to central station.

Noisy location of our room. Had to have the TV on to dim the noise from the hotel below. Central location close to transport. Not overly impressed.

Pros: Location for shopping and walking on Style Mile nearby.
Cons: Renovations. Impossible to improve parking here. New mattress needed.
Great location in the city centre if you do not need to park a car. Affordable accommodation which includes breakfast. Bathroom was good. Shower was great.
