Pros: Location and affordability
Cons: They could do some work on the interiors and improve the general ambience.
Location: bars, shops, restaurants. At the heart of the city centre but in a serene area.
The location of this hotel is great...right at the heart of the city centre yet tucked away in a very serene area. Walking distance to literally everything and very affordable. Breakfast was nice and fresh and staff were friendly too!

Disappointing Stay

Posted Dec 15, 2017
Pros: breakfast
Cons: Provide more rooms with ensuite facilities and a warmer welcome both on arriving and departing
Location: Too far away from Bus and rail stations and also because of steep hill to get to hotel. Theaters nearby but a taxi needed to get to from hotel
Too step of hill to both climb and to get down to and from hotel and also to get to Sauchiehall Street for to get to a Bus stop. They also do not provide a place to leave you luggage for a short period which meant I had to carry a heavy bag about for most of the day

Clean convenient budget option

Posted Dec 3, 2017
I booked an en suite single room with breakfast for only £35. If I’m being honest I booked it because it was so cheap and close to the bath street and sauchiehall Street. The room was clean and certainly more than comfy enough to crash after a good drinking session. The cooked breakfast the next day was decent enough. I’d happily stay here again for this price.

great choice, well done me!!

Posted Nov 26, 2017
Pros: Everything
Cons: At theprice it exceeds what can reasonably be expected
Location: No, go see for yourself.....there is so much in Glasgow and the hotel was convenient for everything....
a great location close to everything this wonderful city can offer....parking outside hotel, but we walked everywhere.....the staff were simply lovely..... the hotel is very simple but everything that matters is just right...linen, room cleanliness, huge bed, space....all excellent AND the breakfast is superb.

Good value for money

Posted Nov 25, 2017
Pros: The price and the breakfast
Cons: Bathroom door did not close properly and shower head was fixed to the wall at 6ft level............i am 5ft 2" !!!
Location: Nice and central just by the top of the pedestrian area of Sauchiehall street so plenty places to eat, drink and shop nearby
Hotel a little shabby in places but good value for money for good central accommodation just at the top of the pedestrian area on sauchiehall street. Room was compact but perfectly fine, bed was comfy, nice and quiet even though it was very busy. Breakfast was really good as was the breakfast area. Staff were helpful. it is however at the top of a short but Incredibly steep hill and accommodation is over a 3 storey building so if you have issues with mobility check carefully

Book with low expectations

Posted Nov 22, 2017
Pros: The food served was nice. Reception was friendly.
Cons: Hotel needs repaired, staff need training in terms of professionalism. When full Scottish breakfast is advertised, provide said Scottish breakfast!!!!
Location: Close to city centre, everything is nearby. 20 minutes walk from Buchanan bus station.
Arrived at hotel, was greeted by a friendly enough receptionist, given key and room number then given directions to room, fine ok. Hotel had a strange musky smell like a retirement home. Shared bathroom had mould and smelt of faeces despite being clean, opted for basin wash instead of using bathroom. Carpets were old and frayed. Wall paper peeling from the walls. Sink in room had a pair of jeans underneath. Room was not clean. Splatter stains on walls. Lock on door was flimsy at best. Floor boards were loose meaning walking around room with caution. Kitchen staff were lazy spending most of their time on their phone or talking amongst themselves, not professional at all. Full Scottish breakfast not provided as advertised by the hotel, you pick what you want and they limit the quantity. Optional apple juice was noticeably watered down. Door handle leading to room almost came off. Windows are not double glazed or sound proofed meaning you lost heat if the radiator isn't on and you hear everything from outside. The hotel is in urgent need of repair, staff working in kitchen need customer training due to lack of professionalism. No shower gel and other toiletries provided with the exception of a small bar of soap. Cold tap produced both warm and cold water randomly. Very disappointed and wish I read the other reviews sooner.

Great location

We enjoyed our stay here immensely, got our exercise going up and down the stair (our room was on the top floor haha) Great location, close to everything we needed, the Scottish breakfast available was delicious and the dining room was clean, well set and very well maintained by staff. Thank you!

Book with caution

Posted Nov 21, 2017
Pros: The food served at breakfast was pretty good.
Cons: Provide full Scottish breakfast as advertised, clean rooms and check for belongings. Do something about the smell of faeces in the shared bathroom etc
Location: Located near city centre so you can pretty do anything close by.
Arrived at reception, went well was given key, room number and where to find the room, fine ok. On way to room found a noticeable musky smell resembling a retirement home. Carpets on way to room were old and frayed and at top level wall paper was peeling off the walls. Got into room to find some floor boards were loose resulting in caution walking around room. Windows had no double glazing or sound proofing so if a penny dropped in the street, you'd hear it. Cold tap couldn't decide if it was cold water or warm water coming out. Found a random pair of jeans under the sink, not sure what that's about but it's a clear indication that the room is not checked after guests have checked out after their stay. Splatter marks of something over the walls upon arrival showing that the room was not cleaned. Hotel advertised a full Scottish breakfast on their website, it's not. A full Scottish breakfast consists of the following: Bacon Sausage or lorn sausage Fried tomato Tattie scone Hash browns Black pudding or Haggis Fried mushrooms Baked beans Fried egg Toast What you actually get is pick what you want and the quantity of items you want. Not a full Scottish breakfast that was advertised. Shared bathroom smelled of faeces which was strange because it was apparent that the shared bathroom was clean, however mould was found in the shared bathroom, opted to basin wash in room instead for health reasons due to mould in shared bathroom.
