A cautionary tale -apartment was double booked!
24 hours before arriving we contacted the owner/host to say we had no code for the key box. We were told that the owner had no record of our stay. Seems rather implausible as we had complete records of all payments and correspondence. We were told he was locked out of his account and he could only see the other booking - AirBNB. Despite apologising he told us he was going to continue with the other booking and we would get a refund!!!! How we were meant to believe that if he could supposedly not even access his account as an owner /host. We had booked and paid 10 months in advance and had travelled from Australia. It was 8pm the night before. After several terse phone calls and communications the owner suddenly said he would give us the apartment and tell the other people they had to find somewhere else. My father called Home Away in Australia the following day and they said the booking was clearly visible so it is hard to know what actually occurred but we do know that the apartment was also on AirBNB. The whole situation was totally unacceptable and extremely disappointing. So please be wary when booking this apartment. It may have been one-off occurrence but we will never know. Now to the apartment. The location is second to none - 10 out of 10. An easy 5 minute walk from the station and a few minutes to the centre of town. The apartment is a good size but unfortunately it is extremely cluttered. It is too small for any more than 2 people and there is no room to place the pull-out bed. There is way to much furniture in the apartment in every room and you virtually can’t move especially with luggage. With some design and decluttering tips , I think the apartment has great potential.
